Yet another boring, staid, ballad from David. He is just a younger version of Anthony Federov. I believe he will win, the show will lose yet more credibility, & David Cook will out do him.

Did you catch how this week Archuleta was styled to look a lot more like a regular 17-year-old? (Okay, the leather pants were maybe a bit much.) Someone in charge is trying to deal with the "looks creepily 12-years-old" issue.

Back at Hollywood Week, I remember being impressed with Archuleta -- he sang something romantic that was a tad too old for him, but he did it beautifully and sounded sincere rather than like a sing-by-numbers. It's a real disappointment to have not enjoyed anything he's done since the Top 24 "You'd Better Shop Around." Sure, his genre isn't mine; but that's true of everyone except David Cook (which means it's true of entire past seasons), and all the rest have given performances that kind of sell me on what they're doing or at least convince me it would be exciting if they kept improving. Archuleta archuletas; he's not an ambassador for his musical vision.

Another ballad? Say it ain't so! At least Ramiele tried to step outside her ballad box...

Why do the judges say other people are predictable when all Archuleta does are ballads week after week...

David tried something new for the first time last night - he went to the falsetto range at the encouraging of Mariah Carey. It was tentative to say the least, but I was glad to see that he was finally trying to do something different and take a risk of some sort. I think one of the problems I've had with him is that he doesn't seem to ever go beyond his comfort zone. He seems to be pretty much the same singer today as he was several weeks ago, while most of the other contestants have grown and improved.

I thought David did great! There's only so much you can do with a Mariah Scary theme.
I would love to see him get his groove on though. Waiting patiently. *sigh*

I didn't care for his performance at all. I don't like vanilla ice cream.

His performances are getting too boring for me. He's too predictable. He can sing, but brings nothing to connect with the audience

I'd add that he is cheesy and boring. But yeah, he definitely can sing.

But ... he CAN'T sing. He has a VERY narrow register, and one tone. That's not singing.
