I haven't been voting much till now, but I'm gonna make sure I get at least 200 votes in for David Cook every week from now on.

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 Y'know, while I want to see David Cook go as far as he wishes to with the competition -- and I think he's by far a better singer than Archuleta -- I'm not sure he has it in him as a person to enjoy whomping down a 17-year-old over a game show title, if the choice were actually put to him. Carly's desperate enough to throw everything she's got at Archuleta, but when she does that, her control slips. This is why I'd rather see Archuleta go out earlier, while it's less of a head-to-head competition. His outraged fans will then buy his album in droves and turn him into the next Clay Aiken (thus achieving what he wanted in the first place), and the finale would be two grown-ups facing off. |

And as you said, Archie doesn't have to win to do well afterwards - nor does David, for that matter. Just ask Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry. Quote:
If David Archuleta has much of a future in music, I'd say it's in CCM or something like that. Unless he can also write or get really good songwriters to write for him. His vocals won't be competitive with Josh Groban or Michael Buble for the easy listening market either, I think.

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 It's like he is the presumed winner by some people. I don't know if that is enough to get him all the way through. The longer he and the others are there, showing their talents, the less chance he may have....I hope. He appears to have enough of a fan base already, to give him the fame he (and his dad) are looking for. Well, aren't they all though ![]() |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I was just watching Naomi Judd from the Red Carpet of the CMT awards. She was telling how when David Archuleta was on Star Search and she gave him high scores (5 stars?). She also was saying they were just gossiping on how ornery his father was. She said "All I can say is stage dad, stage dad." shaking her head like this. ![]() | |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 Naomi Judd was just interviewed on the Red Carpet at the CMT Awards. She was a judge on Star Search the year David won. She flat out confirmed that the kids Dad is a night mare. She said that she & Paula (who is also there) were talking about him & comparing notes. Stage Dad in spades!! |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 Jinx, razor & Unk. What a shame. I'm not a fan of Archie's at all, but I hate to hear about a kid being pressured by a parent like that. ![]()

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 whoa but naomi has had her fair share of parenting issues as well - all you have to do is look at the daughters. interesting gossip nonetheless.
