| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I don't get him...I think he's very immature and annoying. A little obnoxious too...I don't love his singing voice either. This might sound weird and random but he always sounds like he needs a breathing treatment. Does he have asthma or something. I think he needs to go back to high school (I question his parent's for allowing him to miss school for this!) and come back and try again in 5 years... | |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 i agree the breathing in between notes is annoying and distracting. it sounds like he's a heavy smoker with emphysema. ![]() |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 Danny Noriega would be better teenie bopper material if he wasn't so openly gay! They might want him for their best friend but it's obvious, even to younger girls, that he isn't going to be their boyfriend. David is the guy that you could bring home to mom and dad and lots of girls like that. He could "bad" up his look a little and he probably will as the show goes on. |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 To the average 17 year old, David is a dud, that is guaranteed. Listen to what a 17 year old listens too. Your ears would fall off. Really young girls might like him cause he is not threatening, girls like the one that cried for Sanjaya last year on TV. With every month older, that demographic narrows down to zero. And it starts again with people who are close to retirement. Young girls don't have a problem at all with Danny's orientation, for them it's about the person and the music. The one thing that can get to be a trap for Danny, is stuff like moving the head, and eyes rolling, and the ugh and oh my...and oh my gosh. But just because all that has become so old, it's like a shtick. You can see guys like that all over YouTube. But if Danny just tones it down a little, people will focus on his performances. When it comes to my last post about David and young people his age; The question would be, do you want politically correct, or reality? For politically correct i suggest the following... Breaking News | Latest News | Current News - FOXNews.com I'm about reality. My big fat question mark about David Archuleta ist still; how come he had several TV appearances and nobody "discovered" him? There is a one year old YouTube video from a news show where David appeared and he sang......thats right "Imagine". One trick pony? Constant cheese? Why doesn't he have a career already, since he is "such a talent"? I don't have a problem with David the person. I think his singing is for grandma and pop, but thats another story. What i totally object is this "miracle wonder that is David", that is build up and forced on the viewers by the AI machine. If he would be the genius they make him out to be, he wouldn't have to go from one talent show to the next one. We will see what the real deal is. I'm 100% sure, David will not be the next American Idol. Everything is still totally open. |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I'm glad everyone has different opinions, but honestly, I don't know how so many people are asking questions like, DOES HE HAVE ASTHMA?! Like, he was marketed as vocal paralysis boy! Either way, this boy is talented. Not many young men can sing (see: belt) "And I am telling you" at the age of 12. |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I don't watch this show to find my next favorite entertainer. I watch the process to be entertained. I will vote for David as long as he performs well and once the show is finished and never buy any of his CDs. I thought that Jason Castro did really well his first night so I voted for him also. The next week, not so good so, I didn't. He's the one that 17 year olds might go for, not David. As far as Danny goes, my gay friends are laughing about how gay he is! Yes, he's cute and just a little too full of himself. Haven't you been reading about the contestants this year? Most of them have had some kind of experience in the music business so David isn't the only one. He may not have much of a style looks wise but he just seems to sing the best SO FAR. That's all I'm judging it on but I've never picked a winner! I picked Clay (who was the better singer) and Reuben won! Go figure. |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I would have picked Clay also. I watch AI for the entertainment too, it's in my posts. After the final show it's "good bye until January". I have yet to find an Idol that is worth following up too. Every contestant with prior major TV appearances, or prior support from a record company, is questionable. Not just David. If you really have It, one chance is all it takes. But their seem to be people who found a way, to wiggle themselves constantly into some deals or TV shows, just to fail miserably when it comes to delivering something that actually makes a difference. Real talent, real greatness, continuity, whatever. And i think David falls exactly into that category. Overwhelming first impression, and from there on it's all downhill. That one year old YouTube video with "Imagine" again, just fits perfectly into the puzzle. I guess next year he will be on Canadian Idol. I didn't think David was the best last week, far from it. I don't know who was. There are some talents this year. One of them still has to project a special something, that makes him or her outstanding. The whole David thing is just so forced and pimped out already. Idol has been accused of pimping contestants before, but this is way to early. Who knows, it might be reverse psychology by Idol. Tell people how great this kid is, a million times before the whole contest even gets going, and after a while he is history. Cause everybody is just tired of it. This way they get the attention, the news, and the discussion, but they don't have to deal with the liability of giving him a record deal. Cause at best, he would be the new Barry Manilow, not the new Justin Timberlake. And who needs that? |
