i thought that was interesting.

You can have a great golf swing & still hit slice after slice into the woods. Or have great motion on the pitchers mound & still not be able to throw a strike. Amanda may have had great technique, but someone should have told her that the technique should include intelligible lyrics.

I never had a problem understanding her. In any case, I hear music on the radio every day that I can't understand half the lyrics of. That's what google is for.

If that works for you, that's cool. But I really love lyrics and don't enjoy it very much (usually) if I can't understand what's being sung.

Amanda may have great technique, but she lacks in too many other areas to make her a good singer.

Seems to me that if it gets bad enough for the need to google lyrics, it's bad enough to turn off.

I love lyrics too - can't stand songs that are just repititions of one or two lines. But I can't always understand everything that's being sung when I listen to a song on the radio, especially in the rock genre it seems. If I like the song, I can choose to google the lyrics to fill in anything I'm missing. That way, the next time I hear the song I'll know what they're singing.

I never had a problem with what Amanda was saying, but maybe because they were songs I already knew. I've never had a problem understanding any AI contestant, for that matter.

I'm not a huge fan of Amanda by the way. She was okay, but not all that sorry to see her voted off.

BTW, I didn't have a hard time with Amanda's enunciation either.

I'll google lyrics too, if there's something I don't understand. I just don't want to have to do so just to have an idea what a song is about.

I lurv Amanda. She's right, though. She didn't fit in to the bubble gum that is American Idol. She'll do fine no matter what. Even if she sings at local bars, she is authentic and will have a great life just being Amanda.

Maybe I need better speakers, as Amanda was all just an on-coming train of roar-rumble-squeak to me.

Or possibly, if her style is a style you like, you know how to make sense of what you're hearing. I'm so immediately off-put by the entire Southern biker bar sound that my brain gives up.

That said, it was more interesting to have an Amanda around than to have yet another ballad belter to keep straight.

Me either - just to fill in a missing word or two. If I can't tell what it's about, I won't be interested enough to go looking.

She's from Indiana. Don't blame that on the South. We got our own issues.
