I think he has a wacky fanbase out there that keeps voting for him , kind of a "goofvote".
I have no other explanation.

I mean , look at the show with the 8 guys , when they show all performances together at the end.
Kevin couldn`t be more out of place , it`s like Harry Potter meets Broadway.

I think he is a adorable and has a great voice for someone of his age. Thrilled that he made the top 12 and I am not ashamed to say I vote for him

His dancing on "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" was weird. His feet seemed rooted to the spot while he jerked back and forth with funny hand movements that always stopped at some invisible line mid-air. lol

Worst singer in this year's top 12 (except for Kelly maybe). I can't believe he made it this far... especially at Will's expense... Will is far more talented. What is up with Randy pimping this kid when he did nothing but slam Will?

He's a good kid and matured well beyond his years. For his sake, I hope this ends quickly for him. Am I the only one who detects underlying hostility with this kid? I don't know, I just get the vibe that he isn't as sweet and innocent as he is made out to be. Perhaps it is the looks that he gives to the judges when he is criticized, maybe it is his vaguely defensive replies, but something just doesn't seem right to me.

And, I think that his voice sucks. Personally, I wanted Gideon to get through. I expected Will to go, he just wasn't a standout, but when it came down to Kevin and Gideon and Kevin stayed....that was an injustice IMHO.

However, VFTW is pretty strong, and I just know that Kevin is their target, so I fully expect to see him outlast people vastly more talented than him, which is a shame. If he does, he will be this year's John Stevens or Scott Savol, more infamous than famous. The only person I would be comfortable seeing Kevin beat of the 12 would maybe be Kelly - nah, not even her.

He needs to be first out.

What a joke. What a sick, sad joke. Gedeon was passed over for this guy!?! Sure he seems sweet and can warble a bit, but the boy has no business being where he is! And we put him there.

I think he has every right to be in the Top 12. Personally I think he is a better singer than Will, Ace, Gedeon and Melissa, at a minimum.

Lemme tell ya. I am really impresed by the confidence and maturity of the two 16 yo. in this competition - Lisa and Kevin.

They are more mature than 19 y.o. Kellie.
