If he stays with the same thing, with night after night of up-tempo songs, it will get old. What started his fanbase and wowed most of us in the first place was his belting out of "Whatever Happens" at his first audition (Or if you missed his first audition, like me, his belting out of an excerpt of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in Hollywood).

Mario rocks the ballads. He won many people over to his side with his rendition of "How do you mend" just last week.

He gets us into his performances, whether they be up-tempo or ballad-like. So I say, versatility all the way.

Mario is okay....i like his rendition of " How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" but his voice isn't that strong...but he's a good performer

I agree that Anwar is probably a better vocalist but Anthony? I havn't heard Mario hit a bad note yet and I thought Anthony's first two semi-final performances were not very good.

hey everyone. I just came over from the idolforums on the fox channel and everyone over there is freaking out, because nikko's picture has taken the place of mario's on the final 12 listings, and it claims that Mario withdrew from the competition on earlier today. There's no reason it just says that he withdrew.

I don't post here often, so I don't know if i can link you to it or not. Just go to the contestants section on fox's site, and scroll over to "best of the rest" and you'll see mario at the bottom.

at http://www.idolonfox.com, it has the final twelve, with nikko in place of mario. under "the best of the rest" link, it says mario withdrew from the competition. anybody know what happened?

How very strange for Mario to withdraw, and why would they reinstate Nikko if he was voted off? Mario must have gotten into trouble or broken one of the AI "rules," because he is certainly doing well in the competition and a favored contestant. But he is definitely off all the line-ups for the top 12, and the AI message boards are going crazy wondering why.

That's really weird! If it's true I will be really sad to see Mario go but also really happy to have Nikko back.

Okay, so really ya'll... where's my man at? *looks around and under various things* Where are they hiding him? My personal theory is that he either:

1) Felt he had gotten enough exposure and withdrew so the others would have their chance.
OR
2) Was offered a recording contract and withdrew because of that.

Hey, I'd buy his album. But yo, American Idol audiences can be fickle. Who's to say they'll remember him by the time his album comes out? I will, of course, but still. I want him back! ...Now! If I'm a bit demanding, you'll have to excuse me... I'm in mourning.

I am seriously seriously GUTTED!

Aaw man - this has seriously put me on a downer! lol. I dont even like that Nikko AT ALL!!!!
I wouldnt have minded as much if it had been Travis that replaced him, but this is just awful! The thing about Nikko I dont like is the fact that he seems like a dark horse - he'll probably sneak through each week just missing the lowest vote and end up really far - its happened before.

Naw now I am really not happy. I expect a full explanation on AI this week as to whats happened with Mario.
