How does the process work to get invited to join the Opry? What does being an Opry member mean?

People have to be asked by the Opry committee to become a member. Usually an existing member will show up at a concert or something where the intended is playing, walk on stage, & surprise them with an invitation. The member is required to perform a certain amount of times per year. Members are also rotated as the MC during Opry shows. They perform first & introduce the acts throughout the night. It has been quite a while since they added a new Female member, the next new member to be installed will be Charlie Daniels. Carrie may still be a bit new & may not have the time to give to the Opry shows, since she is just getting ready for the upcoming tour, but she has always beeen there in the past & she sells the hell out of the tickets when she is there.

As of this mornings chart updates Carrie now has 3 songs on the Country Charts Top 40.

So Small is at #14 & will go recurrent tonight at midnight. This will be the last day of chart presence for the song.

All American Girl continues to climb rapidly up the chart & stands at #28.

Do You Hear What I Hear has entered at # 38, due to stations switch to Christmas Music. DYHWIH is also at # 2 on the Adult Contemporary Charts.

For those of you that didn't get a chance to see the Oprah show with Carrie it will be shown again today. This is the show where she also sings with Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, & Josh Groban. If you tune in make sure to watch for the look on Buble's face when Carrie does the jazz vocal & hits the high note. It's priceless.

Then tomorrow morning, she will be performing on the CBS Early show. I believe this is a new performance, but I also think it was recorded earlier.

I had to edit this to add, Dec. 26th they are replaying her last appearance on Leno.

Due to the Holidays I'm still waiting for USA Today to post the list of all Idol sales (if they do I'll put it in the AI Articles section as always), I don't know if they will or not. But, Billboard has posted the Top 10, & Carrie moves back up to #7 this week with sales of 216,000 or a 57% increase over last week. One of the bigger increases of anyone on the charts.

For those of you staying in tomorrow night, don't forget that Carrie will be performing live from Times Square on Dick Clark's New Years Eve hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

Carrie did a great job last night on Dick Clark...she never sings a bad note when she sings live!
