| Actually, I have heard from sources their statement about Josh "unable to complete his required training in the allotted time," by the Marines is false. It's an upset because it was set and stone, and then the Marines went back on their word.

| I also forgot to add how much I didn't like that article. Why does it seem every journalist hates him?

| Nothing is set in stone until Josh is on stage. I agree, it's pretty crappy of the Marines to revoke their permission, but it's possible that Josh's permission was granted contingent upon meeting his training requirements. And if it became obvious he wasn't going to be able to meet them in time, then they are smart to announce it now, rather than when you're all crushed into the venue in Minneapolis, waiting for him to butcher his first song. Oops, did I say that? | |

| This may be a foolish question, but I know nothing about the military. Wouldn't Josh have already completed his training? How much time is left to his military commitment? I always thought training happened at the beginning, and I also thought Josh didn't have that much time left (unless he chose to re-enlist). |

| People in the military are meeting training requirements all the time. They are constantly being evaluated for all sorts of things - physical fitness, how well do their assigned job, knowledge of their specialty, marksmanship, use of tools and equipment, etc, plus they periodically have to go to school to learn new things or to advance in rank. I think Josh has a little less than a year left in his enlistment. |

| If I'm not mistaken, he had about 18 months to go when AI finished, which would mean he's got about 16 left. | |

| Like pepper, I know nothing about the military either, but I think Josh was pretty lucky to be allowed to compete on the show in the first place. He appears to be a dedicated guy and I imagine he appreciates the opportunity he had. I think he'll be remembered once his military commitment is over and will get the chance to pursue his music career.

| Did anyone ever think that maybe Josh does not want to go on tour since he did not win? Maybe he is just finished with AI. That would be a convenient way to get out of his AI resposibilities. This is just a theory. ![]()
