| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 The problem isn't just that he looks like a 12 year old. He doesn't seem to have the emotional or social maturity of a 17 year old - his entire affect is one of a 12 year old. |

That choice in how to show him totally plays into the stage-daddy myth. Given that he's apparently massively popular, I suppose it doesn't matter to anyone but the handful of us cynics who would never buy his music anyway... but the Archuleta image sure makes me appreciate the 17-year-olds who bounce in my face with their ideals and their latest story and their new joke and their gossip and what their boyfriend/girlfriend did and the iniquities of their physics teacher. (Not that I won't always prefer the ones who sit down quietly and mutter asides to see if they can crack me up.) | |

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 This kid just took one of the best bar/ sporting event anthems and turned it into a cover that I'd hear on my nieces Kidz Bop CD. ![]()

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I am getting so sick of this guy. He is so overrated and so one-note as a performer. Every week it's the same voice, and it's so predictable. I really don't understand why so many people like him.

| Re: David Archuleta - Season 7 I have nothing personal against Archie, but week after week he sounds the same, looks the same, and fails to move me. He needs some life experience under his belt and a bit of training on breath control from his vocal coach. His lower register is weak and his squinty expression makes me think of a mole coming out into the light. David Cook, on the other hand...Wowza! |
