Blue Valentine, you did it again. I'm a 46 year old female, and am a bit put off that you consider me to be an old lady. I am not a senior citizen, not even close. I do not crochet doilies to put over my toilet paper rolls, nor do I spend the day lamenting how today's youth has squandered their innocence. I also do not consider my self to be unusual in this way compared to other women my age. While 45+ women are less likely to have tatoos than 21 year olds, this does not mean that we are, as a group, totally uncool unable to stop ourselves from drooling over David Archuleta because he is 17 and looks like he's 12.

Perhaps my 70 year old mother's cohort finds him irresistably adorable, but as a group, are also less likely to be participating in the phone fest on Tuesday nights, so cannot take the credit or blame, depending on your point of view, for David Archuleta's high vote counts.

I'm in my 20's but I agree he looks 12

he has a very good voice he has a baby face when I look at him (he's a cute kid) I just don't belive in what he sings even tho he sings the songs well!

David started off better than what he has performed the last time or two. He needs to step it up, seriousely.

Pre teens have the stamina to redial for hours on end, so he will make it far but he cannot win this. He has had no life experience to get behind any of these lyrics. Perhaps the Osmond clan could help him pick appropriate songs for his age.

I'm 18 and erm.... David looks like he's 14. All the better for the tween girl fans though.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7

I go back and forth on the marketability of David A. The money is there; look at Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Aly and Aj, and the entire High School Musical cast, huge successes. But, they are propelled by wildly successful TV shows too, except the Jonas Bros, adding to their exposure and popularity.

Jordin Sparks is young, talented, beautiful with the AI machine behind her and she has had lackluster CD sales.

I think David A may fall into the later category, talented, cute, but this age group of fans are fickle, and they sway toward those acts they are watching on TV every night.

But, Jordins download sales are doing very well. 1 single already Platinum & the second one headed that way quickly.

Thanks razor for the clarification. Good for Jordin. I think "Tattoo" is ok. Not great, but my 8 year old daughter loves it.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7

David may look 12, but he sings in a style that has not been appreciated for decades. He's a traditional ballad singer, brilliant in some ways, but not contemporary. I enjoy listening to him for his technical prowess, but he seems like he's not always connecting with the audience, possibly because he is too polished. That's why the judges want him to be less "perfect." Ironically, the moment he flubbed this week made him even less connected to the audience, not more.

Re: David Archuleta - Season 7

I absolutely LOVED David the first couple of times I seen him...but now the newness is starting to wear off and he's just not as exciting to watch as before. Who is starting to really shine, IMO, is David Cook. I'm starting to like him more and more. And isn't that the mark of a true idol?
