Amanda L. Overmyer - Season 7 - Page 7

From her last performance, she deserved to go. But, I like her distinct voice and some of the other girls don't stand out. I agree -- don't think she'll last much longer unless she has some fantastic song choices.

Next week, it's songs from The Beatles. She'll need to pick a John Lennon song where he screams in order to impress. Maybe "Come Together" (& rework the tune since that 1 can get monotonous) or a fast-tempo track.

A lot of people are going to want to sing "Yesterday", but I bet TPTB (aka The Powers That Be) let David A. have it.

The Beatles is the week after this one. Top 12 night. I doubt she'll be around to see it.

Well, its two weeks, not one. But she need not be confined to John. I'd actually pick "Helter Skelter" if I were her.

I think Helter Skelter is perfect for her. Except she'd probably end up sounding like Dana Fuchs' version from Across the Universe. Even though that'd probably be a good thing.

On the Indiana Board of Nursing she is listed as an LPN. To actually specialize in something you have to be an RN. She may just work on a unit that specializes in respiratory problems like cardiopulmonary. I can't imagine what she would do in peoples homes unless she was a respiratory therapist as well. I find it funny she has no disciplinary actions listed because of her DUI but i'm sure that will come up when she tries to renew her license. It bothers me that they make a big deal that she is a nurse yet her actions regarding her DUI are in no way professional. While I realize she is on a show that image is everything, she does not represent the profession in how she appears. Just like the "nurse" on survivor, i'm surprised there were not any charges filed against her as that is fraud and misrepresentation to say you are a nurse if you are a cna. Just like medical assistants in doctors offices that say they are nurses. It is misrepresentation of the profession, especially since nurses have so much more education. Just my two cents and yes i'm an RN.

In the first audition, I wanted to like her but then she opened her mouth to sing and I was horrified! I love rock music but I hate pretenders and she is totally trying too hard to be something she's not. I hate it when you have no originality and have to imitate someone else because you don't know yourself well enough to come up with your own style. One of my biggest pet peaves. So I totally expected them to say no and rip her a new one for being unoriginal. So you can imagine my shock when they put her through to Hollywood. And she's still in the competition? WTH??????? Last week, I couldn't even understand the lyrics. This week, she was articulate enough for me to realize that she has a beer can for an ear. She did not hit one note right. NOT ONE!!!!! She has seriously got to be gone this week!

It wasn't forgettable at all. I gave her 10 votes. She was one of my favorites of the night. I haven't heard that song in years and have been singing it in my head ever since. I loved how she brought her own style to the song and was extremely disappointed to see her go...

i wanted to like her as well, i mean finally a rock chick but simon was dead on she only sounds good singing one type of songs, and she sounds the same when she does sing those songs. she doesn't have that great of a voice when she isn't growling her way through songs if people caught her singing during the group sing last thursday. she sounded awful.

i think she doesn't have the knowledge or creativity to know how to pick songs and get the most mileage out of her voice. instead of picking songs that showcase her voice, she picks her favorite rock songs. she should just stick to singing rock covers in dive bars in indiana, she's not meant for the big time.
