Her interview here did a lot to prove she's actually a level-headed non-delusional likable person, but I think this post on her myspace is also more proof.

When I heard her audition and her hollywood-round performances I really liked her because I thought she is a breath of fresh air in this competition and I was really happy to see her got to the Top 24. But after couple of performances I got a feeling that "I've already heard this", she started to get really boring. Yes, she has completely her own sound and her own style compared to other contestants but I also found her sound really boring and monotonous. She only sounded OK when she found a song that let her growl two notes back and forth. She has very limited range and that actually started to sound very annoying to me. So I'm not crying about her absence even though I thought she had great stage presence and her dissimilarity to other contestants was refreshing. But she just wasn't good enough singer.

so what's up with amanda? she was obviously not wanting to be at the finale, but she has not been to any of the interviews i've seen with the others. they just showed a bit on access hollywood where they called them the "american idol 8" (david cook wasn't there, obviously). i rarely see her mentioned at all in the interviews.

what gives? anyone know? i'd really like to find out what was going through her head during her pitiful performance on the finale.

Most of the time, after any of the finales, any interviews I've seen usually only involve the top 10...they are the ones promoting the tour....which is why we probably don't see Amanda or David H.

ohhhhhhh, i guess that makes sense. i wonder why they bother to have the 'top 12' involved in the finale if they're not going to let those two other do anything else? they need to either let all 12 go on tour or drop the 12 to 10 and go with that.

i can't think of who else was missing from the group on last night's access hollywood. i didn't watch the show much till the end because of big brother so i don't know their names very well. but add david to the group and that still only made 9. hmmmmm.... did anyone see the interview?

Amanda played at the Whiskey a Go Go in LA May 24th......



Her Myspace has a video of her singing and performing...with promises to release more later....

There are also pictures of her performing on VFTW website and YouTube has another video of her playing an original song...she sounds good on it too! Look up "Amanda Overmyer: Play On (Original Song)
