| Did anyone else catch the Kennedy Center Honors show last night? Carrie really did well & got a huge reception when she walked on stage. But, everyone that performed did themselves proud. It was a really good show. Andrew Lloyd Weber was almost in tears the whole time his music was being performed. |

I had forgotten about it and just happened to come across it during the Andrew Lloyd Weber portion. It was a very enjoyable show with great performances. Carrie did a great job with Kenny Rogers and I'm sure Dolly was proud of her as well. Question....I thought I heard that Jessica Simpson was part of this and she made a mistake during her performance. Did I miss this part? or was this not shown..... | |

| Jessica Simpson flubbed the first take of it. It was retaped after the show, and it was still lousy, so she asked it--and herself--to be withdrawn from the show. | |

| Billboard has released the Top 10 albums for the week. Sit down folks, Carrie is at #4 with 292,000 copies sold. That puts her at 4.6 million. Billboard has rounded everything off so once the official Soundscan Numbers are released I will post them, but If this is indeed the case then Some Hearts had its third highest sales week in its 58th week. |

| Been wondering that myself!!! I bought four copies when it came out and gave three as gifts. May do that again, as more of my friends are discovering and loving her. |

| Soundscan figures have been tough to come by this week, but here is an article from USA today that spells out what happened this week for all the Idol albums that are now on the charts. Some good, some bad, & some really bad. Idol Christmas Week Album Sales--Chris Goes Platinum http://blogs.usatoday.com/idolchatter/ Sorry this is so late, but originally Nielsen SoundScan hadn't planned to release sales figures at all today; then they hustled and got 'em out in the last hour or so. So here's the Idol-relevant album-sales data I gleaned. > Top Idol on the top 200 album chart: Carrie. No. 6 last week, she shot to No. 4, selling 292,000 copies (up about 47% over the previous week. For purposes of comparison, overall album sales, in the week leading up to Christmas, were up 34%.). Her total is 4.59 million. > No. 2 Idol: Daughtry. His sales were up nearly 40%, 250,000 compared to 181,000, and he crossed the magic 1 million line in actual sales (1.04, to be exact, in a rounded-off kind of way). He also went down on the chart, from No. 7 to No. 8, but that won't dampen the celebration. It's Not Over looks like a multi-format radio hit, too. > No. 3 Idol: Taylor. He fell from 2 to 15 on the chart, and his sales dropped from 298,000 to 202,000. That approximately 32% drop would normally be in the acceptable range, but not in a week when overall sales were up 34%. If sales normalize in the next couple of weeks, he could be facing a massive plunge. On the other hand, he did top 500,000 in two weeks. > No. 4 Idol: Kellie. Held her own pretty well, taking only a slight chart drop (56 to 61) and selling 63,000, up from 45,000 the previous week. Total is 336,000. > No. 5 Idol: Fantasia. Serious fan base evaporation. The album fell from No. 19 to No. 63, selling 62,000, down about 53% from the first week. Total is 195,000, which is, in some form of consolation, better than Ruben's total already. > No. 6 Idol: Clay. Dropped from 124 to 143 on the chart, but sold around 20% better, 23,000 compared to 19,000, and his total is 483,000, so close to half a million he can taste it. His Merry Christmas With Love album nearly equaled A Thousand Different Ways this week, selling 21,000 (22,000 the previous week; total 1.3 million). And, sadly, there is no No. 7 Idol. Ruben dropped off the chart in the most painful way imaginable. He sold more than 50% more albums last week, a tad less than 14,800 compared to 9,700, but the No. 200 album on the chart sold 14,803! Ruben's total stands at 181,000. |

| razorbacker... you'll be happy to see this excerpt from a reuters article: 'Idol' Champ Underwood Ends 2006 on Top By Ken Tucker Reuters NASHVILLE (Dec. 28) - Carrie Underwood has proved plenty as 2006 draws to a close. In November, the 2005 "American Idol" champ surprised fans and the industry by winning the Country Music Assn.'s female vocalist award. Now, Underwood's "Some Hearts" ends the year as the top album on the year-end Top Billboard 200 Albums, Top Billboard 200 Albums - Female and Top Country Albums recaps. She also claims the No. 2 spot on the Top Country Album Artists recap behind Rascal Flatts , whose song "Bless the Broken Road" she famously performed during her run for the "American Idol" crown. In addition, her Grammy-nominated hit "Jesus, Take the Wheel" is the No. 5 title on the Hot Country Songs chart, and she is No. 3 on the Hot Country Songs Artists recap behind Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts . Add those achievements together and it's apparent why Underwood is the No. 1 performer on the Top Country Artists-Female and Top New Country Artists recaps.
