I understand why they did not do any harsh judging on these two rounds. They really do want to see who the viewers favor. Once the show starts I hope they are able to give constructive criticism. The contestants themselves have always said they valued Simons words above all others. His delivery was harsh but he was spot on and they all knew it. It made them stretch to be the best they could.
As much as I like both Jennifer and Steven, they are not good judges. No more gushing, please. It you like them and there is no room for improvement then keep your praise to a minimum. Randy, just continue to do what you do, whatever that is.

I was pulling for Baylie her first attempt at Idol, so I was set to pull for her again. However, while she did enough to get through to the big stage, her nerves took over where others had more control. I don't think she'll go farther. Also, too tight bodices combined with nerves threw a few of them off their game with breath problems.
Did you notice how many of the girls are from rural areas? I think only one or two claim to sing country, which is remarkable. From the girls this year, I hope to hear range, tonal quality and an understanding of the term pianissimo. Is there anyone on the list who has that delicate touch?
