I agree, I really liked it. Might have to break down and buy his CD one of these days.

The Brad Paisley tour group folks are doing just fine so far. Scotty sang a bit and introduced Brad's song, then the Band Perry (last year's New Artist winner) presented the award for ACM New Artist 2012 (voted by the fans) to Scotty. The kid has another trophy on his shelf. Keep it going, Scotty.

I'm not a lover of country music -- I don't hate it, but it's not my favorite -- but last year I had a feeling early on that not only would Scotty win, but he would be successful.

Of course, only time will tell if it will last, but anyway, CONGRATULATIONS, SCOTTY!

I'm sure it is, it's just a matter of lack of money why I haven't gotten it yet. Maybe one of these days...

I read this morning that Scottie announced that he will be "putting his career on hold" this fall as he has enrolled at NC State for the fall.

I remember his mother being quoted earlier that Scottie will be going to college.

Interesting that he chose the college close to home. He had considered a college in Nashville so he could also be working on his music. He'll get there, eventually.

Good for him. Sounds like he realizes that stardom is fickle and he might need something to fall back on.

For those who don't know (I live in Raleigh), you have to be darn smart with top-of-the-heap grades to get into NC State. My own kid didn't even bother to apply there.

So good for Scotty! Getting into "State" is quite an accomplishment. He seems to be very level-headed as well as talented.
