David is finishing this round of his tour on New Years eve. I read on his site that he will be playing Dec 30 and 31st at the Pechanga Casino. That place is between Riverside and San Diego in California and quite the resort. My next door neighbor's mother works there, but it is too far to drive for me anymore.

His tour card contains quite a few casinos to the end of the year.

Happy New Year, Cookies! Here are some great videos of David's New Year's Eve performance, including a version of Auld Lang Syne.

David Cook will be on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition this Sunday night.

Zap2It has an interview with him about his work on the show. He also talks about the songwriting he is doing now in Vancouver for his new album.

I haven't watched EMHE in a couple of years but I watched last night because of David. Both he and Xibit were involved in the construction as well as the cancer research fundraising. The highlights were David at the hospital children's cancer ward explaining a project the kids would make for the house and then joining them in painting small picture frames; also David walking on drywall, painter stilts - scary. He didn't sing but he took part in another project he introduced - making pillows which were auctioned starting at $1,000; and he donated a signed guitar. He also met the family at the airport on their return home from Disneyland and rode with them to the reveal. I think David and Xibit had more screen time than Tye - LOL

Good show highlighting a good cause.

Thanks for the link. DC always amazes me, he's articulate, witty, and damn, if only I was 20 years younger~

Thanks for the EW link. I found it fascinating to learn about his writing process (riffs first) and what might be going into the record.

I posted this on the AI 10 Spoilers thread, but thought it would be more appropriate on DC's. His new single, The Long Goodbye, will be released April 19th, and he's going to be performing next week on AI! I hope this new album will be more like his Analog Heart pre-Idol. Snippet of the lyrics:

I didn’t want to lose you
leave you with a broken heart
But wherever we are, we’re miles apart
I know that we tried, But this is the last goodbye
Oh, I didn’t want to let you go
But wherever we are, we’re miles apart
I know that we tried, But this is the last goodbye
