Since I haven't really noticed it for all I know It's probably one of the things I like about her. All I really know is that when she sings I pay attention and I just love the sound of her voice. She may be sharp, breathy or whatever she sounds good to me.

She has definitely moved to the top of the list for me. I hope she wins also. I know that several members here have complained about her breathing issues and I believe Randy pointed it out once.

Must've been for the two seconds he managed to pry his lips off her behind. I'm surprised (actually, no, I'm not) that none of the judges mentioned her embarrassingly dreadful, off-pitch final note last night.

Honestly TR, she tripped over first base last night and slammed headfirst into the shortstop as she came around second. But she definitely brought it home in the end.

"I Who Have Nothing" was her best performance because it fit her singing style perfectly. Her breathiness, chirps and squeaks fit the context of the song: an overwrought emotional plea. Those same traits detracted severely from the first half of "You'll Never Walk Alone", IMO. IWHN was a masterpiece in hindsight and deserves to be remembered as one of the finest performances of the season.

I'll stick with my metaphor because I didn't think it was nearly that bad

Don't worry Tigerusty, not everyone thinks Jordin is "breathy." Jordon's breath control is superb. It's so good that it seems like she is smoothly floating up and down her incredible vocal range, reminding me of Barbra Streisand. Jordin sings with powerful emotional expression (unlike most AI contestansts) and her pitch--like Melinda, Latoya, Tamyra etc.--is almost flawless. Jordin is, in my opinion, the finest over-all singer AI has seen.

"Tons of surprises, but it wouldn't be 'American Idol' without it, would it?" Cowell told MTV News. "At the end of the day, I could go out and find 12 great singers, but that's kind of boring. The fact that there's people there who shouldn't be there makes it 'American Idol.' "

I guess you and I have very different ears. I loved that last note; it sounded just right to me. If the note was as dreadful as you claim, then Randy would have said something--or certainly Simon. Even when Randy, as you say, has his lips on someone's behind, Randy always mentions pitch when there is a problem: "I love you dawg...There was a pitch problem on a couple notes...but I love you dawg. That was the bomb."

Tuesday was not her best performance--it was only very good instead of brilliant. I really look forward to her future performances.

I like Jordin... think she sounds good. But after seeing these pictures, I totally think she shouldn't even be on the show. She has connections... 2 albums... met Simon and Randy before if not Paula as well. I say this qualifies as already discovered talent and maybe a ripped off show.

So what if she already knew Randy and Simon? And are you not allowed to have CD's before American Idol? Taylor had one or two. Lisa had one or two. Lots of people had CD's before AI.
