The show barely focused on the bad auditions, maybe one or two, and lots of good singers! I liked the girl that needed surgery on her leg, and "The Fireman".
Another added bonus was the judges were NOT fighting with each other. Hooray! This was a much better episode.

There were several country-ish voices that made it through tonight and last night. There is bound to be at least one country singer that makes it to the live show .

I'm finding this season much more palatable if I watch the best auditions on YouTube and turn off the video while the judges are talking.

Paul Jolley was beautiful. Voice like butter. Absolutely one of the best singers I have ever heard on AI. Please, please, please, America - vote him through.

I adored Charlie Askew. I wanted to adopt him.

I only saw Charles, what a hauntingly beautiful voice. AI? doubt it, but I hope someone hears him

Why does the last person left always have a backstory...and usually a sad/inspiring one at that? Can you say edited?

Yeah well the auditioning order we see on TV isn't the same in real life. I can tell from personal experience on a different show. They save the "best" for last when they edit.

I don't know... they usually make a point of saying it's the last audition of that day/city in the preamble to the contestant. I think they just save one they know will be a wow! for the final audition.
And just because I can't stop watching his audition... Charlie Askew for the win!!!! Love, love, love him.

Did we always have the back stories on AI( and other shows) I seriously don't remember. I wish we didn't have to have them, because if its sad and they don't make it I feel even sadder. When they do make it, I feel the story helped

^^^ I don't recall much of a back story but during Season 4, the cameras followed Carrie home to her family's farm in Oklahoma & shoiwed her feeding the animals.
