There's another story on TMZ right now and.......
apparently, a contestant has been asked to leave because they did not disclose several arrests (under false names) and has several outstanding warrants: 'American Idol' Will Kick Contestant Off Show For Concealing Crimes | TMZ.com
Jermaine tweeted earlier that he's off the show (https://twitter.com/#!/JJonesAI11), so I guess we know who TMZ is talking about. According to that TMZ article, the confrontation with producers was filmed and will be shown on tomorrow night's show.

If this is all true, I'm not sorry to see him go. The over-the-top crying struck me as just too dramatic and a bit fake. If he lied about his father to get sympathy, that's just low. If I was one of the contestants who didn't get chosen to come back when Jermaine was, I'd be pissed!

How did he think this wasn't gonna come out?

Maybe he thought it was worth the risk. He has a unique voice.I do know he took the place of someone that really wanted it, and didn't lie.

Wow this is unreal. You'd think that with all the money this show makes & the people they could hire to investigate the contestants these situations could be avoided before they select the top 24. Personally I think they knew & wanted the added drama since the ratings are not what they used to be. Whatever, I hope he can straighten out his life.

Poor guy. I'm sorry to see him go even though I knew he wasn't going to make it all the way. I still think he's a little slow and wonder if his mom played any part in this. She seemed overly-invested.

Editing my post so it is in spoiler tags, just in case:

I just saw the news on TV a little bit ago. It is a shame because while his style of singing is not my cup of tea, he did have a really good tone to his voice. That said--

It's stupid to lie about prior arrests/legal trouble because, as seen before, mostly the people get found out and sometimes kicked off (ala Corey). Why TPTB don't seem to run extensive nationwide background checks on their own way before, say, Hollywood Week is another point of stupidity, to boot.

Lying is wrong, and in this case, really stupid. But it's an entirely different level of stupidity to go on essentially the most watched TV show currently on air in the country when you have, according to TMZ, warrants out for your arrest. Seriously? Maybe he should have listened to the oldie but goody Bobby Fuller Four classic "I Fought the Law and the Law Won", provided that part of TMZ's story is true. Sheesh.

I can seriously do without seeing the "confrontation" producers had with him. Just have Ryan explain what happened, and be done with it. Will be interesting to see though how they work elimination this week.

I don't like the word "confrontation". I hope it didn't get ugly when they told him he had to leave

Hi, it's me Jermaine. I'm on National TV....Ooops, I have warrants out for me. Now they know where I am. I just can't imagine it can get any more idiotic than this.
