And the ones we got this year came courtesy of Haley!

I also LOVED Adam doing Whole Lotta Love! This was my all time favorite, because I LOVE Zeppelin and Adam did a great job.

Carrie dong Alone was great too.
Loved Clay's BOTW! I was nearly in tears watching that. My other favorite Bo's "In a Dream"

As I've stated many times before, I'm not a big country fan, but I did watch last night. And, while it wasn't the best ever, I did enjoy it.
I actually think Lauren has a really good voice and it was very evident with the sassy number. I listened from the kitchen and it appeared that she could do country or pop and be able to crossover quite easily. I totally enjoyed it.
I thought Scotty was good, as well, but I'm not as fond of his voice. And, he's definitely a country singer; don't see much possibility for crossover with him.

Every season, the judges choose to pimp a particular singer in the finale and, so, this one was no different.
I did like that the judges waited for both singers to sing before giving their comments. That was good. Hated Steven's silly comment about giving a song to Lauren because she's "prettier." Gosh, WTF would Simon have to say about that. I love Steven, but as a judge, he sucks big time!!

Could have done without that singer, Taime or whatever his name was, singing about positivity. Awful, IMO, and sounded like he was lip synching and doing it pretty badly.

At least the producer "new first release" songs for each contestant sounded better than those in the past. I would, however, have given Lauren the sassy one, as it was really good, but I know it's not a new one. I do understand, though, that they're trying to appeal to their fan bases with these songs.

As far as Lauren's outfits, hair, makeup, etc., I do liken her a lot to both Carrie and Kelly's time on the show. Carrie, especially, has undergone a major transformation, looks wise and showmanship wise. I think Lauren, who is also pretty to begin with, but needs help in the weight / styling / makeup dept., will also transform into a beautiful Swan after this show. Carrie, if one remembers, was nothing special when on the show, either in terms of looks or style or performance skills.
However, I still think it will be Scotty who wins. I've thought that since the top 10.

For sure those songs were much better then some of the dreck we normally would hear. The only one I really like is David Cook's song. Of course, Cookie could sing the phone book and I would be happy.

Time of my Life. I didn't think much of it, until I saw it on a TV show (I think it was DWTS) and I realized it is a lovely song. I hear it on the radio quite often and it sounds good there too.

Thanks, libgirl, I don't think I've heard it.

I listened to it on You Tube. I think I have heard on tv too. I really like it, though, I 'm not a big fan of Cook.

Its quite a lovely song. As I said, I hear it on the radio often (and at the stores when I'm shopping!)

That's an opinion that I don't share. Maybe Casey in Hollywood but he never equaled that on the show. There were some entertaining moments, but nothing that wowed me.
