This song was used in Britain in a commercial for an auto club service. Now every time I hear this song I burst out laughing, because I see the singing tow truck men...

    Scotty does sound lovely, though.

She started growing on me a couple of weeks ago. As long as she keeps her growling to a minimum i enjoy her performances.

I liked the beginning of Scotty's song, but not so much the end. I wish he had sung it the whole song tenderly.
    Count your blessings!

    HAHA! Randy said it!

But not a total tongue-bath, when it was designed to be "a moment."

Scotty to sing "You've Got a Friend"
Jimmy and Babyface are trying to get Scotty to sing softer, not in his typical Scotty sound...
    Can he deliver?
He sits on a stool amid the fog and a lone guitar player, crooning it out. He is even holding the mike a bit less flutelike tonight. The bass and violins join in the chorus. It's definitely a countrified version, but I think it sounds pretty good. The crowd goes wild, on their feet giving him a standing O. Randy said he started with a buttery tenor, didn't know he had that range. Called it flawless in the beginning and is in it to win it.
More effusive praise by Stephen -said he never sang better. Jennifer loved the story telling.

The softer more sensitive side to James? That's Ryan's teaser for after the break. Can't wait!

    Scotty sounded good tonight.

Stupid question time: Was that Laverne of Laverne & Shirley fame sitting behind Randy? If so, what's up with wearing the dark sunglasses indoors?

Not only did I love Scotty singing "You've Got a Friend", I also loved the fact he didn't hold the microphone at that weird angle and he didn't do that awful lip curl thing. He seemed more genuine to me tonight.

James is singing the praises of Scotty. He will be singing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" Says the fans requested it on a few forums. No marching bands or flaming pianos this week he promises. Babyface was blown away with the guitar only version in rehearsal.
