BonbonloverAgain, it's just how we see things. ... she (like me) understands that the judges probably know more about music marketing and production ... but she knows more about Crystal.
    ...

In any case, if we didn't all have different opinions, contests like AI wouldn't exist.

I think Crystal has a nice voice...but I don't think she feels the judges know more about music marketing and production. I find her constant talking back to be off-putting and arrogant. To me it comes across as if she is not listening to their criticism in order to grow as an artist, but rather she feels it is time for an even exchange of opinions between the judges and herself.

But you are right, without differing opinions there would be no show.

I don't find Crystal arrogent at all. It's not disruptive if you have valid, reasonable opinions to make.

I caught some videos of Lee on youtube and he definitely knows what kind of artist he is. Kings of leon...hinder...snow patrol.....his music choices on the videos and the show support that. He is finally stepping up, though.

As for Big Mike....I like the guy...he's a total teddy bear and he seems like a genuinely happy and caring man, but he sounds the exact same on every performance. I'm not unhappy that he is in the F4, but I really hope he doesn't win.

I thought about that too. If he sang like that last night he would not even be nervous about tonight. He sounded more relaxed, natural and much better on both performances and the vibratto was very controlled.

The grouping made me think that either Crystal is in the bottom 2 or Casey is in the top 2. One has to give. Thankfully, they're both safe which means my prediction of Casey going home was wrong. I should have gone with my gut. Ryan did say that "a few eyebrows will be raised" about tonight's result. He wasn't saying it was a shocker because Aaron (or Mike) was never a front runner but because Casey is safe despite singing the worst last night.

I couldn't care less if Mike or Aaron went home because one of them should have been gone last week instead of Siobhan.

Oh I didn't know that Siobhan was a VFTW pick. They actually picked Mike for last night but switched after they've seen the performances and since Casey was just so bad compared to the others, they switched their pick to Casey as the Goat For The Worst.

I think it's because that Casey was really ripped by the judges last night so his fans voted like hell for him, thinking that he might definitely be not safe this time around after being bottom 2 for two consecutive weeks.

When I have watched this show every time someone is voted off or cries Mike is there with a hug.

If Mike was arrogant I would say so. I am an excellent judge of arrogance because I am,lol. Mike is far from arrogant he is a big guy who can't catch a break from fans. Big Mike is large so he is fits the stereotype.
For me, its not so much arrogance. I liked him a lot in the beginning, but the constant mugging has turned me off him. Probably if I liked R&B, I would be able to overlook it, but his singing just bores the heck out of me.

I'm not. I enjoyed Aaron a whole lot more than Mike over the weeks.

All I can say is I'm very glad I had the remote in my hand and something interesting on another channel to watch during that performance.

The issue of Crystal talking back to the judges was brought up in an interview with the Top 5 after their 5/4 Sinatra night show. I love her answer.

'Idol's' Top 5 talk Sinatra night | Idol Tracker | Los Angeles Times
Crystal, you've talked back to the judges two weeks in a row. What's motivating that?
Crystal: It's called having a conversation. They're people, I'm gonna talk to them like people, I'm not gonna be like, "Oooh, they're judges" and cower in fear. They say something, it's just like having a conversation, not like they're aliens from another planet. I don't know, I really feel strongly that all people are equal, like I'm not gonna put someone up on a pedestal because of their job. I just feel like I can talk to them. They're people.
    You go girl!
