Lil' Aaron will probably do comparatively well, as long as he remembers how to sing in tune (he doesn't always). He's got the kind of "squeal appeal" I suppose is necessary to portray Sinatra--just not the voice.

Remind me... why is Russell Crowe playing a 60 year old version of Robin Hood?

Okay, Harry is doing the arrangement. But I didn't hear them not being able to pick their own songs.

Perhaps its unfair if he messes up the arrangement for someone but... he DOES kind of know what he's doing.
I didn't say that he didn't know what he was doing. Just that it's part of what the judges say they judge on, song choice and arrangement as well as singing etc, the whole package.

Perhaps I was given bad info about song choice, it's what I heard, but Ryan didn't mention it, so I am asking. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

edit: I'm not explaining myself well. I meant that since the judges judge on those things, IMHO it should be up to the contestants to make the choicies, good or bad, for themselves.

Nancy Sinatra needs to lay off the botox.

    "Its old fashioned..."

Simon kind of gets hit in the face with how he always milks that.

Gee, Harry gives ACTUAL singing advice to Lil' Aaron. How often do we hear a "mentor" give actual practical singing advice?

Oh, Aaron. This is dreadful. But the audience will cheer and Simon will be booed when Simon criticizes you for it.

Aaron Kelly – Fly me to the Moon

Aaron starts out softly and has some good and not-so-good notes. The band picks up and he's right on the money. That is one swingin' band, Harry!

    Randy: Really good job!
Ellen: Didn't hear any country in that - beautiful vocals.
Kara: Not as strong as last week. Need more charisma. Fill up the space.
Simon: Frank - the king of cool. He's a lion; you're a mouse. But people like you; you try hard.

He picked it up a bit at the end and saps like Randy and Ellen may focus on that and laud him for that part. But it was flat and lifeless before that. The whole first half of the song.

EDIT - Hah. I deliberately left Kara out of the "saps" category in that on a hunch... and she actually proved me right for a change.

I really thought Aaron would be able to do well with this genre and, despite the judges, I am disappointed.

Aaron did not sing well at all.
