Wow. Lee is really horrible tonight. I'm watching online. Maybe it is just my speakers? My speakers tend to make the kids sound off but this was disturbingly bad.

I didn't love that by Lee... it's a beautiful song, but it didn't come across that way to me. Obviously the judges heard something else.

shania twain was a GREAT guest judge, and more than deserving of the mentor slot.

she's sold a ton of cds, and i have NO problem with her catalog. we'll hear good country songs, and we won't get stuff we've heard multiple times before.

shania gave lee great advice, and it worked out for him. i thought he was really good.

Regarding Shania's catalog - one big advantage of doing Shania Night instead of generic Country Night is you are guaranteed a modern catalog (by Idol standards). Nothing is more than 15 years old.

I have a feeling that Lee's performance may be one of the best of the night, and that's not saying too too much. He sounded like he was straining through most of that key.

Shania is a true success story, she's been quite noble throughout her life. She deserves any and all success, but is she really current? I know she's divorced now and trying to make a 'come back', but not a sizable catalog and unless she can redo her radio takeover of the past, she's likely not to be pertintent again musically.

I can't believe the judges liked that. Really? Oh well.
Since Mike is performing second, I'm guessing he will go home this week. Second is not a lucky spot. And I have a feeling the judges aren't going to be polite to him.
