Simon is right. Jermaine is totally disconnected with the meaning of the song. "What's Going On?" was an anti-war/social-consciousness song. These kids need to take the lyrics seriously and change the arrangement based on the emotional impact of the song, not just based on vocal tricks.
    Great observation!

Totally dittoing this. Hubby even walked in the room during Alex's song and commented on the tone of his voice. He sounded very sellable tonight.

He's not one of my favs, but I like to keep an open mind each week..... and that was really good.

Anybody running to iTunes to download this stuff?

Andrew Garcia up next. He break dances! So, if he gets cut here he can just hop over to SYTYCD. He sings You Give Me Something.

Starts out great. Then the chorus - what happened? He fell apart on pitch - it's pretty bad. Either he can't hear the band or he is so nervous that he isn't listening.

Randy: That wasn't the vibe for you. Pitchy all over the place. You're not a soul singer.
Ellen: Couple of pitch problems but I liked it a lot. You set the bar too high with the Paula Abdul song.
Kara: That is the problem It feels like you've been going down since Straight Up.
Simon: You haven't chosen the right song in two weeks. That is a problem. That was OK, but you are better than OK.

Why not, it's becoming the recycle bin for reality TV.
