Its also feeling the song as well

Here we go: make it your own: do the original justice: if Todd moves; he's dancing too much.

Make up your minds. Simon thinks he's utterly wrong.

I don't think Toddrick did too much with the song. The judges are being particularly rough on this guy. I liked that song sung by a guy for once. It gave it a fresh attention.

Kara constantly feels the need to reiterate what has been said and retranslate it for everyone. Aren't we lucky to have her do that for us all.

I guess I'm easy to please, but I kinda liked it (Todrick, I mean). At any rate, it was better than last week...

I was thinking the exact same thing!! What was up with that Randy? Talk about your mixed messages! But I'm obviously in the vast minority because i didn't think he was that bad at all. But then again, I have a soft spot for 80's music

I didn't think it was bad. He seems to take the critiques well.

I like Kara, but not sure why they've Paula-fied her hair. And she seems to be trying harder to be entertaining or something, and it's annoying me. She seems to have even changed her voice some. I like the old dry, hard Kara better than this fluffed up version.

As usual, the judges babbling leaves the contestant confused.

What makes "changing" a song good isn't the fact that it's changed. It's the fact that an artist has reinterpreted a piece of material and, through who they are, shown us a different aspect of the song.

Everyone remembers David Cook and Billie Jean. But just as impressive was David's First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, which wasn't musically all that different from the original, but was completely his own. It's the ability to own the material that makes the difference, in my opinion. It's having a point of view; something to say.

    So true...they've Paula-fied her totally...glam glam and run-on sentences.

Jermaine Sellers is taking the judges advice (big mistake, usually) and does What's Going On.

It's OK. But I don't think he's quite as good a singer as he thinks he is.

Randy: Better than last week. Couple of bright moments; but tough song. You needed to pull it back even more.
Ellen: Love the style; but pushed too hard and didn't like it.
Kara: Impressive vocals, but you are doing too much. Go back to the meaning of the song. It feels forced. One trick that means something.
Simon: We're frustrated and disappointed. But you water it down and play around with it so much.

Jermaine: "What should I sing next week?"
Simon: "I don't think you're going to be here next week."
