Shucks, Vanessa gets left behind. It would have been cool to see an honest to goodness rags to riches story. I know many kids like that back in Tennessee.

Vanessa's nerves just did her in..poor girl. At least she got to experience Hollywood.

Wow-ie! Andrew Garcia is really good. I liked his arrangement of that Paula Abdul song.

Vanessa: "I took a risk and it didn't pay off."

Oh, but it did. I hope she realizes that she has national exposure right now. Not a lot, but enough to parlay into some singing gigs at least.

If the first day of Hollywood did her in, there is no way she could have coped with the Idol pressure cooker that has melted much more experienced artists.

Imagine having the words "liked" and "Paula Abdul" in the same sentence! Its a pre-Valentine's Day miracle!

Really. Hopefully someone in Nashville will take notice and she can at best become a regional performer and live a better life.

I found Andrew to be pretty contrived. I'm not impressed yet. Katie (was that the girl with the Alziemer's granny?) She was good.

    Bye bye Italian Stallion.

Eeek. What a bizarre edit with that girl, where we heard her still singing while we saw the judges critique. It was just odd.

Cornelius Edwards, Amadeo DeRocco and Megan Wright get cut early.
