I was just about to post the exact same thing.

I don't think any of the winners or even runners up would do it. I wouldn't. Why set yourself up for possible failure if you don't have to.
When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "Happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life. - John Lennon

Yep, they would have to pay them more money than what Simon makes.

I would watch it just to see Bo Bice perform every week again...

Lets say we did live in a fictional world where this could happen. Here's who I would choose for the top 12...

    Kelly Clarkson
    Carrie Underwood
    David Cook
    Chris Daughtry
    Kris Allen
    David Archuleta
    Melinda Doolittle
    Carly Smithson
    Blake Lewis
    Jennifer Hudson
    Bo Bice
    Elliot Yamin

7 guys and 5 girls. Imagine their group songs, ahhhh they'd be amazing.

They had a World Idol competition once, with the winners from the various Idols franchieses participating. Kelly Clarkson actually represented the U.S. The whole thing was fairly painful to watch to be honest. I think Kelly came in 2nd and the winner was some Norwegian guy who sounded exactly like Bono from U2.

I don't think an Idol All-Stars could ever work unless they contractually obligated the contestants to participate when they first auditioned for Idol.

I prefer a World Idol since there are so many idol shows around the world that I follow.

When I first saw this thread, I thought the proposal was that they would rerun videos of the most memorable performances on all the seasons of Idol, maybe with fresh commentary. Not a live show, but a show like American Idol Rewind, only with a mixture of seasons represented. Like a greatest hits show, or "Greatest Idol moments".

That would be a lot more doable than bringing all those people back live, and it would be cheap to produce.

I, for one, would watch something like that.

I would support an idea like that.

I could see it as a AI World one week type of thing. Therefore, nobody has to be worried about getting eliminated early since there's only one week and only the "winner" and runner-up are announced.

This would be my main reason for watching. It would definitely be interesting to see how the earlier contestants would match up against the later contestants. As the talent level has defintely improved in the past 2 or 3 seasons, I'm thinking the earlier people wouldn't hold up so well.

So I guess I would watch if this were to happen, though I'm not sure I'd actually want it to happen.
