Not after Adam.
I really like Adam, but he has not had a perfect season, especially in the earlier weeks when he screeched too much and had difficulty emotionally connecting with his lyrics. In recent weeks, he has indeed been brilliant, but there are at least two AI winners and one finalist from the previous seasons whom I would much rather listen to on a CD. In my opinion, the person who "set the bar" high in terms of vocal talent was Elliot Yamin in Season 5, and no one, not even Adam, has matched him since. Of course, Adam is better than Elliot in onstage theatrics. I have Elliott's first CD, and it's a joy to listen to because of his talent.

I also love the humility and professionalism that Adam exhibits; rare qualities for most pop stars.
You are so right! His professionalism is so high, something we have never seen on Idol before. His reactions to each situation he is in shows maturity, humility, and a concern for others that could not be put on as an act. It shows what a great job his parents did in raising a young man who could have easily been seen as a rebel, but they treated with acceptance and love. This produced someone with permission to be different and able to extend that same acceptance and care to others.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree on who has had the best vocal talent. I think Carrie Underwood is the best out of all seasons.

I always liked Elliot and he has a beautiful voice.

I love Adam and hope he beats Danny or Kris. I think he will.

I have to disagree. We've seen some wonderful professionalism before. My first season was Season 2, and the interaction between Ruben, Clay and Kim Locke was inspiring. These three contestants looked out for each other during one of the most intense seasons American Idol has seen. They were committed to doing their best onstage and being a support to each other. And if there is a precusor to Adam, it might be Bo Bice in a later AI season. He was the ultimate gentleman singing in a contest that had not yet fully accepted the rock genre. In some ways, Bo paved the way for Adam and Allison.

    Yeah, far from it.
Clay Aiken comes to mind right away.

Still I wanted to say that Adam fans should not feel too secure.
No pity votes for the other guys!

At this stage I don't think Adam needs to win anymore. But winning would still be better, of course.

    I guess not.

But at this time, it would turn Idol completely into a travesty,
if one of the other goofs would win.
And if that should be the case,
Adam should be the next to get the boot.
Cause in the case of, Adam not winning,
it should be made obvious how ridiculous this show has become.

    I don't write this because I'm a fan,
but at this point Adam is the last credible performer on the show.

I always write (even years ago) that I watch Idol for the show itself.
Once a season is over, I couldn't care less about the contestants anymore.
And when I look back at older contestants...
    Archives - American Idol
...most of them look like stupid Idol clichés to me.
Just like Archuleta's second place and post Idol career,
is nothing but a freak accident for me.

Contestants like Clay Aiken or Carrie Underwood are total exceptions.

But still, what happens on the show should be somewhat reasonable.
This season already started with a downer when Alexis was ousted.
There is no telling how far she would have progressed.
But if I look at some other contestants who are just dumb clichés,
even before this season is over...

    Anoop? Michael? Scott?
    How? What? Why?

That is goof voting for me,
and I have no desire to belong to the mysterious majority that made this possible.

Well, I think Adam is insanely talented and performs in a stratosphere above the others. He is incredibly versatile, gifted, hardworking and always respectful and sincere in his interactions. He is also Fearless.

That being said, when you pull it back down to Earth....Kris is very compelling. He is young, self-taught, creative, sweet, genuine, musically gifted and adorable. He is raw talent.

I like both of them, and think the votes could swing any way. If they swing to Gokey? Meh.
