Absolutely! They need to bring Adam back every season to give the contestants some frank advice that they can actually use.

In some respects, Adam's comments to the contestants was a distillation of the judge's feedback from earlier weeks, IMO. Adam had the fortitude to tell the contestants the unvarnished truth, as he saw it, and then provide suggestions for addressing the shortcomings, a trait that wasn't clearly evident in prior mentors. In some respects, it would have been really useful for Adam to have coached the top 24, before everyone got screwed up by conflicting advice from the judges. It might have made for a more interesting top 12.

Okay, so how are you feeling about the show overall? There’s obviously been criticism that season 9 got off to a sleepy start. Do you think having Adam Lambert come in this week is going to shake things up and infuse the show with that added bit of drama that he generally manages to bring to the screen?

"I sincerely hope so. Because the guy is an incredible talent, and he had an incredible following. And it kind of upsets me that at the moment he’s not doing quite as well… [Pauses.] I don’t know what possessed him to do what he did at the AMAs, but he’s still struggling to live it down. And everybody says to me every week, ‘When are you gonna bring back Adam?’ They want to see him as he was. And hopefully we’re gonna do that for him this week, and we can start putting him back firmly where he belongs, as a major star. Because the guy is an incredible talent. He genuinely is. And it kind of breaks my heart to see someone with that much talent struggle a bit. So hopefully we can do back for him as he can do for us."
I think this interview sums WHY we saw Adam as a mentor, the reason being two fold...one to boost ratings for AI and the other to help Adam get his "groove" back after the fiasco at the AMAs, Love him or hate him I think that "stunt" proved fatal..he will have to prove he has redeeming qualities to the masses, and he certianly put his foot in the right direction last night...looking forward to seeing him tonight!

    Adam just tweeted:

The Glam Nation Tour dates will be announced soon! For those who didn't know, my opening acts are Orianthi and Allison Iraheta!!!
Cool! That's great for Allison, too. Get that girl more exposure!

Aw, I love that Allison is opening! I bet they'll skip my state...maybe they'll hit Charlotte so I can go see him live.

Get out your credit cards, Adam's tour dates have been announced on his web site.

May 15 - Los Angeles, CA, Staples Center (KIIS-FM's Wango Tango)
May 22 - Mansfield, MA, Comcast Center (KISS 108 concert)
June 4 - Wilkes-Barre, PA, The F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts (w/ Orianthi)
June 5 - Sayreville, NJ, Starland Ballroom (with Orianthi)
June 6 - Wappinger Falls, NY, Dutchess Stadium (with Orianthi)
June 10 - Council Bluffs, IA, Harrah's Ballroom (with Orianthi)
June 11 - Mahnomen, MN, Shooting Star Casino (with Orianthi)
June 12 - Prior Lake, MN, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel (with Orianthi)
June 22 - New York, NY, Nokia Theater (with Orianthi)
June 23 - New York, NY, Nokia Theater (with Orianthi)
June 24 - Mashantucket, CT, MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods (with Orianthi)
June 26 - Atlantic City, NJ, Borgata Spa & Resort (with Orianthi)
July 28 - Costa Mesa, CA, OC Fair - Pacific Ampitheatre
August 13 - Bethlehem, PA, Musikfest
Allison isn't listed on the tour announcement. I saw this tweet from AInow.org:

Allison will only be at select cities. They aren't sure which ones yet... RT @h20convo It says Adam/Orianthi and nothing about Allison??
Update: H20Convo reports that Ticketmaster does not yet have the dates listed for sale.

Ticketmaster has just the OC Fair listed so far, and the OC Fair just tweeted about a big concert to be announced on Wednesday (too late - Adam's peeps jumped the gun!) with sales to the general public starting Saturday. OC Fair Early Presales will begin on Wednesday, Apr. 21 at 10 am, and the OC Fair Presale starts Thursday, Apr. 22 at 10 am. I'm not sure what group gets Early Presale and regular presale, but I think people who sign up for e-alerts get regular presale because last week's newsletter had presales on Thursday.

    Aw, damn. Not even close.

Guess I'll have to rely on YouTube clips to check it out. Thanks for the info, TopCat.

Don't give up hope - I don't think that is a complete list. I expect they are still firming up dates for July.

Re: Adam Lambert - Season 8

I received my internet pre-sale notice for the Orange County Fair this morning and I tried, I really did. It didn't matter what combination of pricing and seating I plugged in, it was a no-go. Ticketmaster said to try back closer to the show, implying that there is currently a sell-out. I'll keep trying throughout the day, though.

Then again I may walk over to the Fairgrounds on his performance night and hang out around the amphitheater to see if they have standing room. Until about seven years ago when they upgraded the acoustics, I could hear the concerts from my apartment. Those were the days. *sigh*

Thanks to a kindly tip, I got my ticket. For those in the Orange County or LA area who want to try for a ticket as well, try this address: OCFINFO10@OCFAIR.COM for the link to Ticketmaster. I then used the word - believe - in the Internet Pre-Sale section of Ticketmaster. The code word FORYOUR listed on the OC Internet Sale site is the one that didn't work.
