History of Coin Toss Winner & AI Winner?

Does anyone know the history of who won the coin toss for placement in the finale in previous seasons (winner of coin toss chooses to go last) and the ultimate winner of AI? In other words, did Kelly, Ruben, Fantasia, Carrie, etc., perform last for the finale?

Just thought it would be interesting. I know that DC lost the coin toss and is performing first....which might not be the best placement, but I still think he's going to win.

If I am remembering correctly, Kelly performed last, Ruben was first, Fantasia was first, Carrie was last, didn't watch Season 5, Jordin was last.

That being said, I don't think it matters. If David Cook blows it out of the park, the Archie has a tough act to follow. If Cook stumbles and Archie closes strong, then Cook's in trouble. But I think it's going to be a close vote, much like Ruben and Clay's season. There will only be a couple thousand votes seperating them..

I've heard that it's four. I think that's what they've done in the past.

Thanks Blues Songstres it looks like it will be a close vote especially if its that long of a voting block. May the best David win

Thanks, BuckeyeGal007, for that recap. I agree with you that it shouldn't matter. If DC goes first and wows the crowd then DA will have a tough act to follow.

I don't think that Cook has it in the bag (DA could do an encore of Imagine), but I still think that he's going to deliver one heck of a performance next week. This is all or nothing for him and he's going to rise to the challenge.

I'll bet next season someone will post something like, "It doesn't matter that so-and-so lost the coin toss. David Cook also went first, and he won the whole thing!" I'm rooting for Cookie!

I don't know about the coin toss, but here's the performance order. I'll only note down the winner for each season.

    Kelly Clarkson - performed 2nd
    Ruben Studdard - performed 1st
    Fantasia Barrino - performed 2nd
    Carrie Underwood - performed 2nd
    Taylor Hicks - performed 2nd
    Jordin Sparks - performed 2nd

That said, I don't think it matters much. I'm not even convinced the performances will make any difference. This is going to be a straight-up shootout of the fanbases, both in dedication and numbers. It could go either way.

Thanks for clarifying that leo! I couldn't remember for the life of me if Fantasia went first or second. The people who won that went second on finale night were the stronger of the two finalists and had rabid fanbases, bigger than the runner-ups. The only exception is Season 2 because both finalists had strong fanbases and were equally strong in places where the other wasn't. This season mirrors Season 2, IMO so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top!
