I like David Cook much better than Chris D. Chris tended to scream a lot David doesn't or should I say hasn't yet.

David doesn't have Chris's charisma but technically he sings better than Chris. I think he's actually one of the best singers in this year's competition.

He actually kept the melody pretty much intact and I enjoyed his performance for once. Was it superb? No, but enjoyable. My biggest complaint was the screw-up on the lyrics near the end. But he covered well, and unless one really knows the song well it wouldn’t have been noticeable.
The lyric screw-up was very noticeable, and I was surprised when the judges didn't say anything about it. Since they always comment on messed-up lyrics.

Thanks for the links to the international performances. I watched World Idol, and Kurt beating Kelly all came down to Beautiful Day. It was outstanding. Interesting that only Bo could make your list from "our" side.

The other note here is that either the rest of the world just gets to do better songs than AI, or our contestants really DO pick bad songs.

Great, great review of the show, liedenfrost. Interesting background on the songs the performers chose. Very interesting. Thanks.
