David sounded and looked great on his performance of "Come Back to Me." I didn't know that was going to be his next single. It's one of my favorite songs on his CD. IMO, a good choice to be released. It should get a lot of airplay on a variety of stations.

Would still love him to release Bar-Ba-Sol. Killer song!

David did a terrific job singing last night. I thought he sounded better than ever.

I love DC but does anyone else agree that they dress him like a tacky history professor? His jacket was too short, too tight and lumpy... Can't his enterage(sp) make him look a bit more polished?

I just adore David Cook. Can't wait to hear the new single on the radio. It's much easier to sing along with and should do better than the first. I miss seeing him on my tv every week. I play his cd a lot, and love em all.

I hope the new CD does well. He is very talented and I hope he doesn't become another AI flash-in-the-pan.

He has already sold over a million copies. Hopefully that will go up considerably when he releases another single.

Here is the elephant in the room & it doesn't just apply to David but to all artists. CD sales are going through the floor. All the big box retailers have diminished their music shelf space to almost nothing & turned it over to gamers. The music industry is going to have to find a way to address this issue or go broke trying. We have returned to the 50's where the single was the medium of choice. Then it was 45 rpm's, now it is downloaded onto an Ipod type of devise. How many people nowadays go jogging or excercise with a portable CD player? Ipods & earbuds.

Here is another thing. If the CD or album goes away, what happens to touring? Artists go on the road to support their latest album. How will anyone tour to support a bunch of singles? I know that is an extreme example because artists make the lions share of their money from concert appearances, but the music industry as a whole is seeing drastic changes in the purchasing habits of the consumer & they haven't figured out what to do about it yet.

These days it's the other way around.
Going on tour is the money maker,
    and the recordings are advertising.

Some popular (chart) artists can still sell millions of downloads.
There is money from ring tones. Yes, that has become a serious income.
And then there are private shows for companies, birthday parties, barmitswas...

There are groups like "Ladytron" that don't appear on any charts.
Yet they get millions of hits on their MySpace Music site.
And they are touring around the world like they want to break a record.
Knowing the charts doesn't mean "knowing music" these days.
There is still good new music these days.
    Just not on the Top40.

    BTW, on thread topic.
David Cook is so "last year".
