Chip

I miss Frenchie! However, I do think Chip was really good! I don't know why he didn't get as much praise as the rest of the contestants. He had by far the best voice out of the group! Perfectly on key and he seems like such a nice person!

I think Chip's downfall might end up being the lack of emotion/feeling when he sings.

Great job Lo... glad to know I wasn't suffering alone!
Juanita goes off on him, too, saying he doesn't know anything about music. Randy says, "Do you know who I am?", and Juanita comes right back with, "Do you know who I am?" Yes, Juanita, we know who you are. You're a last-minute substitute in the semifinals, and you're only there because someone much more talented than you isn't.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

Super recap, Lobeck! I actually saw the whole episode last night and agree with you 100%. Lobeck for President.

I liked Chip's voice too, but 3 things kept me from voting for him:

1. As Lobeck pointed out, the lip licking

2. As Simon pointed out, that crazy eyed stare he gave the camera at the end

and

3. Who goes by the name "Chip"? All the other contestants are changing up their names, so if your parents had bad taste, now is the time to remedy the situation.

(disclaimer: #3 is a matter of personal opinion, my profuse apologies to anyone reading this who may be named Chip. I just can't hear the name without thinking of Disney's made for TV movies about the android.)

I actually thought Chip's comment to Ryan (something like "I can't be all 'Hercules! Hercules!' man.") was pretty funny, but I agree with everything you folks have said.

Great job, Lobeck. My only disagreement with you is that I think Ashley picked the perfect outfit for her song - I'm sure there are plenty of guys out there that would like to "touch her in the morning." Not me of course, I'm married. I'm talking single guys. Nope, not me. Noooo thank you. :rolleyes

Lobeck,

I will not be as sycophantic as some of the others but say good recap though I am surprised you left out Joshua's question from Simon about the Marines and shipping out. He mumbled his answer, but seemed so genuine that it likely guaranteed him a spot in the top ten (even if he sang terribly which he did not) I felt this was pretty important and should have been included in the recap..but still a good job overall by you (not great). Loved your comment on buckweat..just amazing how some of these "singers" made it this far. I have ReplayTV and actually forwarded past a few of the girls because it was literally painfull to listen to them.

Chaim:

I thought about putting that in, but I wasn't sure of the best way to work it into the recap (if that makes sense). Yes, I certainly think that exchange helped his chances of making the Top Ten, but I really don't think he needed that to insure a spot. I think his singing was good enough to take of that on its own.

lobeck - thank you!! I was hoping I wasn't the only one who thought there was way too much "attitude" going on with the contestants last night!

I actually voted for three last night because I couldn't make up my mind!

1. Chip
2. Joshua
3. Corey

I was ready to throw something at the Television while Juanita was performing. First, she gave that horrid performance and then gave attitude to the judges! She must live in her own little dream world if she thought that performance was good. How did she become a replacement again? Because I certainly didn't see talent!!!
