    Great post Cassie.
I'm sure Sylvia would be very pleased to know she has your support.

As with all the contestants, I hope she puts in a good performance on Tuesday.
We'll be able to stop calling her 'the one that started crying".

winning on this show proves to be VERY time consuming, and stressfull..... I can't imagine trying to do all of that after "just having a baby".... although I guess if her parents or someone watches her kid she will do fine.... she will really have to work on the nerves though.... you just can't cry everytime you mess up!

I agree on both points Gizmo.

Nikki had a child last year, but he was four.
Angela Peel did too, but she didn't make it to the top ten.

The crying really annoyed me, such unprofessional behaviour.
We obviously don't know the full details of exactly why she was crying, but if I was one of the judges I would probably have eliminated her at that point.

Didn't think she was very good. She sort of slurrs her words.

I agree with voyager. On the Gr 4 show tonight, she was not half as good as she apparently *thought* she was. She has powerful lungs, but has no idea how to modulate her tone. It sounds like she's hollering. It's funny b/c she is singing a song that is sad, wistful--not angry and pissed off. So what's with the caterwauling? BTW, WHAT was up with the "Simon's obviously never been in a black church" remark?

    I agree.
    I was very underwhelmed.

Then again, I wouldn't have advanced her to this stage after she cried in her audition.
Sorry, but you have to be tougher than that imo.

    I agree.

    Please leave Sylvia.

I have no idea what the "Never been in a Black church" comment was about

It seemed as though she was trying to prove that Simon didn't know what good singing is because he's never been, but it makes absolutely no sense.

    Her atitude was awful.

She ought to be glad Simon's never been to a black church (if that's true -- how does she know?). If he has been to a black church, then he'll know how truly bad Sylvia really is.

I got the impression that Little Miss Diva was trying to play the race card.
