Carrie is #79 on the Forbes most powerful celebrities Top 100 Poll. She is the only Country Music persona listed. Notice the $9 million pay day. I have a feeling that is going to be a lowball figure for this next year. Very low ball.

Former American Idol winner used TV fame to launch a career in country music. It's succeeding: In addition to two Grammys, her 2007 album, Carnival Ride, went double-platinum with sales of more than 2 million copies.

History is made yet again by Carrie. Note that this achievement isn’t for Female Country Artists, but for Country Artists in total. This record may be around for a long while to come.

Carrie Underwood Carrie Underwood Continues to Etch Chart History with Seventh #1 Country Single! | The Official Carrie Underwood Site

Last Name” is Her Third Co-Written #1 Single from the Double-Platinum Carnival Ride

Look for Carrie on the Covers of the New Issues of Cosmopolitan and Country Weekly, Both on Sale Now!

Nashville, TN – Three-time GRAMMY winner and two-time, reigning ACM and CMA Female Vocalist winner Carrie Underwood continues to define her place in music history as her newest hit, “Last Name,” this week becomes her seventh consecutive #1 single to top the BDS or Mediabase country airplay charts.

With the unprecedented success of “Last Name,” Underwood becomes the only artist in country chart history to have their first seven singles all reach #1. No country artist in the current era of BDS or Mediabase airplay monitoring has matched this accomplishment, nor has any country artist in recorded chart history debuted at #1 and extended that run across seven hits in a row.

From her Double-Platinum current release, Carnival Ride, “Last Name” is the album’s third #1 single – including “So Small” and “All-American Girl” – all of which were co-written by Carrie. Underwood’s first album, the 7x-Platinum juggernaut, Some Hearts, launched four country chart-toppers beginning with the first single serviced to country radio, the GRAMMY-winning “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” and continuing with “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” GRAMMY winner “Before He Cheats,” and “Wasted.”

Fans can be watching for Carrie this Saturday, June 14, as she performs on GAC’s Opry Live (8 PM ET), in a re-airing of last week’s special, followed by an encore broadcast of the half-hour profile, Road to the Opry: Carrie Underwood. She’s also featured on the covers of the July issue of Cosmopolitan and the June 16 issue of Country Weekly, both on sale now.

Underwood continues her headlining “Carnival Ride Tour” through the end of the year, with upcoming performances this week in Reading, PA; Huntington, WV; and Greenville, SC.

I don't know how many of you follow professional Golf or The Ryder Cup. But the Ryder Cup is a biannual event between the USA & Eurpoean teams of pro golfers. This year it is being held in Louisville & it has just been announced that Carrie will perform at the invite-only Gala and Dinner at the Kentucky Center on Sept. 17. This is pretty cool stuff & quite the honor.

Carrie sure has come a long way hasn't she?

You don't come across a star with such potential. Anyone here still remember her first Audition day in AI4? Even then I could sense that there was something very special in this girl. That she was going to be a success.

Simon thought the same way, I think. I think he practically annointed her as the winner on that fateful Audition day itself.

I usually don't get emotional about Stars and stuff like this. But Carrie really intrigued me. I followed this girl week after week in AI4 hoping she would succeed. Carrie really captured my imagination. She had all the ingredients for success, I thought. Great beauty, a wholesome image and a good voice to boot. A lot of you thought the same as well. Razor especially.

    And boy were we right!

I just saw Carrie's first VitaminWater commercial & it is pretty hilarious. She's a horse whisperer that wins over a bunch of cowboy's. I'd post a link, but I don't think it's legal. Keep an eye out for it soon.
