Fantasia is the better singer. Diana has the stronger vocals. But Diana overdoes it to the point of screaming. But then again, Fantasia has that annoying whiney nasal voice. So it could go either way. :-) I say throw them both out and reinstate LaToya.

Where in the title of American Idol does it say,
"has improved during competitions so you must vote for that contestant"?

    or

"needs it more than the other contestant"?

    or

    "is sweet"?

For real. So annoying to hear over and over why some people would vote for one over the other. American Idol is for THE BEST SINGER. Not "best improved, cutest, sweetest, richest, poorest..etc.."
All things beautiful do not have to be full of color to be noticed; in
life that which is unnoticed has the most power.

I have a feeling Diana will do "Chain of Fools" as one of her songs and it would be quite interesting to compare their renditions.

I would prefer Diana to win, but if Fantasia wins, I won't mind too much.

Maybe, but that's not really how the producers are trying to sell the show. They sell it as the search for the next music idol (hence the name). A music idol is not the same as best singer. Britney is a very successful music idol, but she can't sing.

As it turns out, American Idol has produced a number of "winners" based "mostly" on their singing instead of their idol-potential (and failing miserably to live up to it's name). Hence, none comes close to being a music idol (Clay probably comes closest, but is still a far cry from the likes of Britney); and even the most successful American Idol graduates are only mediocre in terms of their sales compared to "real" pop idols.
