    Favorite/Best performances this season

Well, we're at the finale now. I found this season to have less memorable performances than either of the first two seasons. In fact, I had a hard time deciding on #6-10 on my list because there just wasn't one that stood out from the rest so I just stopped at #5.

    1. Diana - "Don't Cry Out Loud": She sang the bejesus out of this song, and chances are she needed it after singing good but forgettable performances in her other two songs.

    2. Diana - "No More Tears": Woah! It's hard to solo what was originally a duet, and she pulled it off magnificently.

    3. Latoya - "All By Myself": All but flawless. Not much else to be said.

    4. Fantasia - "Summertime": This is the only song of hers I really liked. I usually don't like her voice, but this performance was good. Very very good.

    5. Latoya - "Don't Rain On My Parade": Technically superb as usual, but this was one of the few times I thought she "connected" and she sung this with the passion that she was lacking in other performances.

    1. Take Me to the Pilot - George (never heard it before, but I've been singing the chorous ever since)
    2. Inseparable - Jasmine (funny how she went from best of the night and judges' pick week one to being dogged by the judges in the end)

JPL: A Little Less Conversation (It actually sounds really good and he's not imitating Elvis. He's having fun, he's taking a hella risk, it was ballsy, shocking, weird and had everyone talking or shaking their heads, mouths agape: "WTF is that guy doing? Is he nuts?" And Randy was right, he sang it well. And also "Drift Away". I don't care so much about technical perfection, I felt this performance. Yeah, he lost his breath when he started bouncing. But it was honest, it was heartfelt and I really enjoyed it. In such a pure, joyous way.

Fantasia: Summertime, I Heard It Through the Grapevine and the song she sang Country Night. Girl has the most home-runs. She feels her songs, nearly all of them. And that translates over really well. I think she's awesome.

Diana: Think, Don't Cry Out Loud

George: Take Me To the Pilot

    J-Hu: Circle of Life
