Exactly. She can dismiss AI's influence on her career all she wants but the fact remains that she'd still be just a nobody with a good voice were it not for AI. There are many, many nobodies out there with really great voices who will never ever be in a Bill Condon movie and will never have a record deal.

I agree with you both. Maybe she would have eventually made it without AI, but this was sort of a fast track to her goal.

The Vogue article is just glowing... and she DOES credit AI with jump-starting her career. I wish everyone would stop hating. If people were reporting nationally on every word out of your mouth, how do you think you would come across?

Who's talking about hating her? If you look at all the posts everyone is quite happy for Jennifer.

But it's also appropriate to be thankful for the opportunity you were given and do not dismiss the fact.

    That's all.

Are you kidding? Just go back one page and read the first four posts. And before that there was a lot of hoopla because when Barbara Walters asked her if she was going to thank Simon Cowell if she won the Oscar, she said no. She very clearly thanks AI in the Vogue article.

Honestly, if anyone saw Ebert and Roeper, they said that her acting wasn't the best out of the 5 girls. I mean, did anyone see Cate Blanchett - brilliant, Adriana and Rinko - genius. OK, she was better than Abagail in my opinion. Jennifer was great also, but she mainly won because of her singing. It was more of a singing performance than an acting performance. I think that she should have been nominated, why not? But I didn't think she was going to win. Actually I kind of knew she was going to win, I just thought someone else deserved it. I was personally rooting for Cate Blanchett, she committed to her role. Maybe Jennifer also committed, but at a point I felt she was overacting. Yes, I'm not a movie critic or a pro when it comes to movies and acting, but I'm still in confusing of why she won. I guess she was great, maybe she won because for her first movie she was so great. I'm not hating on the fact she won, maybe she deserved it. I mean Cate already has one anyways, haha. I think when you look back at previous winners of that category, and compare it to her performance, her performance doesn't stand out. But we can't go back in time. I wonder if it was an Oscar moment like the Marissa Tomei rumored incident, when the announcer just said the name of his favorite, but i seriously doubt it. I still like Jennifer, and good for her for winning!

Fmr American Idol Contestant & Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson Misquoted?
    Mar 19, 2007

Jennifer Hudson has taken a lot of heat recently for "diva like" behaviour, after she report tried to skip the Soul Train awards and compared American Idol to working at Burger King. A couple of days ago she wrote a message on her myspace blog to clear up the "rumors", and basically claims she was misquoted:

hey guys. once again i think its time to address these rumors thats been going on about me. there are 3 main ones that has been floating around and i want to address them personally so you guys can know the truth

1.) I turned down a movie role for 3 million dollars because of a nude scene and i wasnt the person getting nude. nothing about that is true. i want to do my album. and my fans have waited so patiently for me to put out an album and i appreciate everyone of you, thats why im focused on putting out my first project. and yes i will continue to still do movies.

2.) all of the american idol stuff and burger king comments. i never said anything about if i was better at burger king i would not be there either. and yes i did say american idol was a stepping stone. which it is! i didnt mean it in a bad way. and as i said in my previous interviews american idol is a stepping stone because had it not been for them no one would of knew of a jennifer hudson to call to audition for dreamgirls! its like everything i say referring to the show gets twisted around and makes me look like im being arrogant and a "diva", since alot of people seems to have that opinion about me and that is not me at all. im not bothered by these rumors because im use to it but i do read the boards and i see my fans are upset by some of the negative rumors concerning me and that is what hurts me the most is to see people who care about me being impacted by all of this.

3.) the soul train awards show and me trying to sabotoge it by not showing up. only thing i can say to this is that i was there! and i appreciate being honored there just as much as i appreciated being honored at the all the award shows i attended. but once again im just writing this for my fans, supporters, and friends who want to know the truth. i am a person with feelings and although i have been warned that things like this would happen to me. and since i am new to this let me be the first to tell you that i have sat back not to long ago just like you guys .I read things about my favorite artist and let me tell you since im experiencing this first hand you guys cant believe everything you read because its not true. o one more thing. im grateful for all my blessings and i thank God for it everyday and no amount of fame will ever go to my head and make me think that im better than anyone because we are all equal. and as quickly as God gave everything he has given me he can take it away!

I liked what she said. There is always a backlash when someone becomes too famous. I'm tired of American Idol trying to take credit for her success when it's so obvious to anyone who watched Jennifer's season that the judges were, at best, lukewarm about her. It makes their taste suspect.
