Somebody saw the taping and told me, but that's all I know. I think they do oldies because they are easy to get clearance for and have cheap royalties.

    That too!

I just looked up the 100 from 62 and here are some of the songs that I think might be performed or at least are some of the better songs from that year.
    Johnny Angel
    The Loco-Motion
    Sherry
    Surfin' Safari

Or they could do a show of all the songs dedicated to "the Twist"
    The Twist
    Slow Twistin'
    Twistin' the Night Away
    Peppermint Twist
    Dear Lady Twist
    Twist and Shout
    Percolator (Twist)
    Twist, Twist Senora
    Twistin' Matilda

I'm sure there are more songs that could be done (obviously) but I can't remember how they go right now!

All in all, it doesn't look like 1962 was such a great choice. About 70% of the songs on the list are about dancing -twist, watusi, limbo, etc. Then there are songs suitable only for group vocals like The Four Seasons or The Beach Boys Not great songs for this group, IMO. This is about all I could find, and I'm not thrilled with them.

    Hey! Baby
    Sealed With A Kiss
    Soldier Boy
    Roses Are Red
    Beechwood 4-5789
    Can't Help Falling In Love
    You Don't Know Me
    Return To Sender
I Can't Stop Loving You (although I only remember the country version and the Thompson's aren't available )

I sure hope the music production team picks good stuff out of this. And I can't see anything that makes for a good group song. -sigh-

Did your "source" say what songs the kids performed?

No, she didn't recognize them, as she's just a teenager, but she said that Morgan sang something slow and Danielle sang something fast for a change.
Maybe we'll see Danielle doing the twist?
