This guy has the geeky Clay thing going on. His voice also doesn't fit into the cookie cutter sound Idol prefers. I liked his hip version of Dock of the Bay. It'll be interesting to watch him sing in a few weeks from now.

According to the Kingston weekend newspaper, Ryan will be singing U2's-One.

I loved his auditions. Crossing my fingers that he'll do just as good!!!

...make it through the wildcard. I can't read the judges minds on this one. If he picks a standard he may make it based on style potential - he does have that Clay thing goin' as well - I don't think the judges would be big Clay fans though - more Ruben.

What can I say - another Mike Weir fan - hope he makes it through.

I highly doubt Ryan will be chosen. Maybe if they chose more then one wildcard. But if they stick to picking one then it will probably be a female to balance out the genders. Probably Toya.

It's a longshot, but if they chose 3 then I could see Toya, Sherrie and then the best guy performance that night going through. Ryan would be a nice addition to the mix.

Wasn't feeling his song choice. Too bold. Thought his singing sounded flat. Showed little range. The rock tune didn't fit his voice. You'd think he'd pick a song from the 50s/60s since that's what he supposedly sings with his band. His voice is more suited to blues, soul, rock-AND-roll, 50s pop ballads. If he picks anything from these genres, he should have a strong showing in the WC. Personally I want to hear him sing, When I Fall in Love.

Overall, I like Ryan. I'll be glad for him if he gets through, but I'll be sad for other people who I like who didn't make it.

They'd never let him show his face in town again...
No schmaltz please. Although he did have that conversation with Clay. I hope it didn't influence him to go to the dark side.
