I disagreed with you on this. If he does what 19E or Fox tell him to do, I doubt that he would be ditching American Junior. And also, you might have a point if American Idol is still going on but AI is over and done with. So doesn't make sense.

Howard also asked him about Clay's sexuality and if he's spoken to him about that. Simon said he doesn't have to talk to him about it, he can just look at him and know all he needs to know.

Isometimes I think he's stating his own opinions and sometimes I think he's tempering his opinions to go along w/the show. And just because the AI contest is officially over, doesn't mean that he can now say 100% whatever he wants as far as the show or its contestants are concerned. I would think he still needs to show a wee bit of caution.

Also, why wouldn't he be free and able to turn down American Juniors? I'm sure that given his image & reputation, Fox would agree that he doesn't suit the show because he couldn't be bitingly witty (cruel) to the kids.

But you know, I could be totally wrong about his honesty or lack of (as could those who disagree with me).

    Agree to disagree, ruben_of_205?

Yeah. But I didn't understand what you said about American Juniors. From what I read, he doesn't want to have anything to do with it.

Who are all these Tabithas they mention? Porn stars better than regular women? Okay, whatever!

So I saw part of Simon on Regis & Kel. Unfortunately, I had to turn it off. Simon cannot allow anyone else a moment of limelight. He was interrupting Melina Kanakouredis with statements to turn the conversation to him. It was more egregious than Regis.

As for why American Idol was so popular? I really don't think Simon knows. It really isn't about humiliation. I'm sorry he still thinks that. I guess that's why I wouldn't mind if he were off the show.

    Thanks for the report, Rubenof205

That eardelicious comment was nice. Wasn't it about Kim? Of course, Simon hated her because she got in the way of his plans.

Yep, Simon really didn't want Kim L. in the finals. Watch the tape of the 3 (clay, Ruben and Kim) on the show before the finals. When it came to Kim L's being critiqued being read (the recaps by Ryan, just before the announcement of who was voted off), Simon was not smiling, not at all. The same reaction with Clay on the Finale night, Simon was not smiling at all.

    Sad.

ugh...i know that clay is in the public eye, and people are going to be wondering if he's gay or not...and its not just because im a clay fan, but i just really feel bad for him. It would be so hard on me to constantly have to defent my sexuality, saying over and over again that either he's not or thats an inapprpriate question.....everytime i read about someone else speculating i just feel so sad for him.

Don't feel sad about it, srs. Clay just has to be who he is and take media reports and comments with a grain of salt. There isn't much he can do at this point. He needs to just live his life and do his work. Even though Tom Cruise has taken people to court over this kind of thing, it still doesn't stop people, so why bother?

I guess I just don't see why it matters to anyone, be it Simon, Howard, Jay Leno or anyone else. s
Clearly, at least to me, the reason Clay appears to present as somehow effeminate at times is because he was imprinted upon strongly by his mother at a young age. Without a strong male figure in his life to relate to, he was bound to. Doesn't make him gay.
As a child, I imprinted strongly with my Dad. I took on his mannerisms, his way of talking, liking the same stuff he did, etc. etc. I got all kinds of "gay" insinuations.. still do. I'm definitely not gay, but it wasn't until I married and had children that at least my family members clammed up about it. I'm afraid Clay is in it for the long haul. Until he dates, marries and has children the speculation is gonna be there. Heck, even after these things happen, unfortunately.
I still don't see why people care at all. :

Didn't I read that Simon had to defend his own sexuality? On some show they asked him if he was gay, and he denied it. What goes around, comes around.

The constant gay innuendos on AI2 orritated me anyway.
