David Leathers made me sad. I didn't expect him to make it as they had given him very little face time but still, I was so upset!
OMG! I was horrified that Monsternette...i mean...Zoanette made it again after the solo round! WTH!!! She hardly sang and played the drums most of the time. She wasn't even very good. Obviously a producers pick to add more drama. Simon would have axed her a long time ago. Then they cut 3 girls not named Zoanette, and they did a sing off between two girls yet still not one of them is named Zoanette. That's astounding that she wasn't even considered as one of the cuts. She made it all through the rounds unscathed without any bad comments from the judges. Luckily for us we were spared another round of Kesban.
Looks like David Leathers' voice matured (deeper) and he doesn't sound like young Michael Jackson anymore. He should have made it last year over Eben. That was a shocker last year but what's more surprising this year is that he didn't even make it to Vegas. He and Ariel Sprague got cut just before the top 40.

On another note, it looks like Nick Boddington will make the top 24 this year. He was the only one cut in Vegas last year from his Groovesauce group. None of his Groovesauce mates however made the top 24 last year. Jen Hirsch made it closest as she was a candidate for the wildcard round.

Melinda Ademi did well. She's better than last year.

There are other familiar faces that got cut but made it farther last year.
jammyjoe, Simon allowed his share of drama through for the sake of drama. He didn't always get it right and he often had "ratings" reasons for the choices he made. You obviously were a huge Simon fan, I'm fine with that, however, Simon was just as guilty as this crowd when it came to allowing the drama through for the sake of drama. His choices for the drama may have differed, but it happened.
All that being said, I really, really hope that Zoanette is as far as she is going. I could not believe they let her through.
