Personally, I like the judges to play a big part.

Not that big of a part. Critique yes, but don't become the show . I think that's what might happen with AI

Unfortunately I think many others will share your opinion. It was a decision that was repeatedly fought against by fans of the show prior to the official announcement, yet the powers in charge didn't listen.

So cat fights every week on Idol? No thank you. I am so tired of reality shows with women fighting each other verbally and sometimes physically. I don't need to see it. I always watched AI for the contestants, but the judges are now the big draw. Not for me. Even in the Simon days, he had more what I would call a "playful" banter with Paula, but this, with mentions of shooting, screams low class. Done.

I thought so at first, now I am not so sure . Its turning viewers off the show, not on to it.

Maybe they think that is what people want? I was okay (not thrilled) with Mariah and Keith Urban is pretty nice and easy on the eyes, but when I heard about that Nikki Minaj, I was like ugh!

I don't think this was a publicity stunt. Someone took a video on their cell phone and you could barely hear or see it. And why this kind of publicity? Why would Minaj agree to this? It makes no sense.
