Jessica trying to do Tina moves is awkward. She should have just stuck to singing it or even better, picked a different song. She's technically doing a good job singing but I'm so distracted with her movements/dancing that I keep forgetting to listen to her.

ITA with you. Her voice is killer, but the "Tina" moves and dress were AWKWARD coming from a 16 year old (as the mother of one...)

I would have much rather heard Joshua sing that song all by himself.

Yeah, me too. It would have been a great choice for him.

I agree with Randy. Hollie's performance seemed more genuine to me.

I agree with Randy. I wish somebody would muzzle the audience. That ridiculous booing at the first hint of a critique is the reason they don't give them! Valid or not, at least Randy was trying to give her something constructive. I guess all they want to hear is him chanting "dawg" and "wants it".

Jessica should have listened when they tried to steer her towards a different song. Especially considering that the three before her did such great jobs on their songs. That song was too mature for her and she looked silly trying to dance it like Tina.

I guess it's a matter of opinion, but singing with Joshua really exposes Phillip's shortcomings as a singer.

I thought that at first too - and I have been a big fan of Phillip, though getting a little bored lately. But by the end, I thought what it really showed was how very different they both are - with both being good at their style of music. They should probably not have these two duet again though!

Joshua is really good with the Motown theme/genre.

Joshua sounds great in the rehearsal. Come on boy, kill this. Love the jacket, lol. How come the singers don't have any pants? Did the budget not allow for it? Did they spend too much on the lights to spring for pants for them?

And what does that tell you? That I'm bored and watching the pantless singers behind Joshua. OK, that was technically perfect. I loved his voice in it but I got so bored that I started staring at the girls behind him. HAHAH Steven noticed both the sleeves and the back-up singers.
