'America' already made their intentions known. They voted for contestants OTHER THAN Jessica! If they do anything other than that again next week it seems to me they would be allowing themselves to be swayed by the judges to change their minds. Which is the opposite of taking it out on the contestant they already decided NOT to vote for.

I'm watching the show. I've already commented on my reaction to the ending, but there were some interesting and even fun sections as well.

The group sing - fun and kitschy. Once again we get to see Hollie and Joshua play with each other, and the others also showed their quirky sides. The one having the most trouble with this is Jessica, but she seems an outsider to the remainder of the group. I wonder if that is true in the house as well.

The Ford commercial - stupid and pointless.

Durbin - did you notice that he used a special effects microphone? I thought it gave off an interesting and cool sound. It was fun to have full out rock back on the stage.

Jimmy - thanks for the comparison between technical singers (Jessica and Hollie) and singer/songwriters (Elise, Phillip and Colton) as well as performers (Joshua.) Then there is the combination plate of technical and singer/songwriter (Skylar.) Once you get them pegged in that manner, it is easier to critique their performances. Sidenote: Jimmy predicted the same bottom three that I did in the prediction game...looks like he would be pushing the Hippie Bus with me this week.

JHud and Ne-Yo - a full out R&B staging. I really like the song title/theme - You gotta act like a woman, think like a man.

Ryan's pointed diss to the judges on the standing ovations. He tells them they (the contestants) are keeping track of them.

Steven: We're going to use our card tonight, especially with an outcome like this (the bottom three as presented to the judges.) Which to me means that whoever (even Elise) was at the bottom of the pile, would have been saved.

In which case she doesn't need Idol. Jimmy and the rest can sign her and make her a star no matter where she finishes. Yes, she's good, but people are voting for who they resonate with and for me at least, she is my least favorite (with Colton being a close second). Why? They bore me. I'm watching this show to be entertained, not to see who has the "best voice in the world." Joshua entertained me enormously, and he was in the bottom 3 as well. I probably wouldn't buy Joshua's record either because I don't generally like that style of singing. But I like Joshua because he entertains me. Jessica doesn't. It's all subjecting.

I should have made it clear that I wasn't talking about the voting. America votes for their favorites they don't vote against someone. What I am talikng about is that it seems every year people commenting on contestants seem to find so much more wrong about them than they did before the Judges started "pimping" them.

exactly my sentiments this doesn't hurt the judges, they have their careers locked down. The only ones hurt by this backlash behavior and voting for someone because you dislike another contestant is the contestants themselves. They have no control over the judges and its not fair that because the judges like Jessica and not so much Hollie, that some how Jessica is getting blame for that.

The losers of this kind of voting is the contestants all of them. These kids have alot at stake their future careers and how people view them. Poor Jessica is getting needless side eyes for something she has no control over. For me the show is would be more enjoyable if they had people in the business actually choose who goes home. Turn it into what it needs to be a true judge of talent. the voting thing is just a feel good thing anyway to make people think they are actually deciding something.

I will never believe the public decides until they publish the breakdown weekly of all the votes.

On using the ' safe card' … I did not even see the judges discuss what their plans would be … to me it seemed as though Steven made the decision for all of them … ???

OR do you all think they discussed it earlier when they looked at the Teams … and said to each other "if its Jessica's Team that has someone going home, we will indeed use the safe card"... ???

In the society that we live in that preaches acceptance of everyone and tolerance, yet if you don't have the same opinion as someone, somehow that makes you not tolerant and wrong... God forbid some of America doesn't like their chosen singer. What happened to just voting and having fun? I can't remember the judges acting this way back in the early days of American Idol. The show was created in which America votes for THEIR favorite. So regardless of the judges idiotic self serving reason for being a judge, the ultimate decision is America. Just because the judges have made "it" in the music business does not mean they are right about everything. And about that "it", since when does a guy who played keyboard in Journey back in 1983 constitute as knowledgable. Sorry that was mean. I just can't stand out of touch hollywood types that feel like they speak for America.

Which was THE dumbest thing to say, unless he knew it was going to be Jessica, and I still think he did.

No, they never discussed at all. So, for me it was all one big set up

I don't think Jessica is suffering because of the judge's attention. I think it's because 'America' is beginning to see a different side of her. There seems to be a bit of arrogance that is starting to come through, and I think that turns 'America' off.

Also, I saw the trio performance with Jessica, Holly and Joshua. For me, Jessica was clearly the weakest of the three during that performance.
