    They don't always pick somebody who is all that bad. Sometimes they like to choose somebody who has a following, but is somewhat controversial. Somebody they think AI would not want to have as a winner, but stands a chance of winning.

    That's why I said "sometimes!" They also chose Scott Savol in season 3. I think VFTW was strong at that time, and I'm still convinced that's why Scott lasted so long. I'd choose Sanjaya over Scott any day.

    They actually are helping the judges look justified in saving Casey this season by supporting him after Paul left. JMO

    So the only week Dial Idol was wrong this season is when Pia was sent home right? They had Stefano and Jacob in the bottom three which was correct along with Paul, but Paul ended up being safe.

    Pia is the main mistake for Dialidol this season. In general, they have been pretty accurate about who is in the Bottom 3 or 5, including Jacob's Bottom 3 week. Otherwise, Jacob has been ranked high by Dialidol for most of the weeks, so I get a chuckle when each week someone at the FORT predicts he is "leaving tonight."
    "Tons of surprises, but it wouldn't be 'American Idol' without it, would it?" Cowell told MTV News. "At the end of the day, I could go out and find 12 great singers, but that's kind of boring. The fact that there's people there who shouldn't be there makes it 'American Idol.' "

    I don't know about that... he came pretty close tonight. Hopefully he'll be gone next week.
