After tonight's Nashville auditions, there will still be 4 cities remaining. So, 2 weeks after this week.

...wow the white house intern was phenomenal. Molly. My favorite so far. She's not listed in the top 40 and that makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to me unless they decide she doesn't really NEED this. So what, she's got an incredible voice. I hope they might be wrong on some of the names!

I think she was great, too. But then, there have been an awful lot of people who had good voices, but cracked under the stress of Hollywood Week. A lot of inexperienced performers can't deliver in the high pressure AI environment.

Looking toward tonight, here are the people to watch for in Nashville. (Which, by the way, is Danny Gokey's current hame base - so maybe that means we get to see him again! )

It will be yet another guy winning this year. I am posting it first lol.

Why? Because look over those faces and tell me how many of the females do you remember? And of the two or three, do you remember them fondly? Do they have a sob story? One does. One. Out of how many?

The producers have been investing all their efforts in the guys, a guy will win. 18 girls out of 40, another strike against them. Unless one of these mystery girls that we only caught a glimpse of as she ran past clutching a golden ticket is a dark horse.

So Jovany *gags* made it over the guy with the glasses and floppy hair? How is that possible? Over the singing waitress and the formerly homeless kid?

I'm disappointed that the substitute teacher with the glasses from Milwaukee auditions didn't make it. Also really liked Adrienne from the farm in Kentucky on tonight's Nashville auditions. I'm sure the ones that did make the cut are really great. (Hopefully, they're going a different route than the one they took last year....)

Odd that the former couple don't appear to have made it. For me they were amongst the best of the Nashville auditions. I actually thought they let way more through in Nashville that shouldn't have made it through than in any other of the cities. I only saw maybe....3? 4? That I thought deserved a shot and only 1 of those is on this list.

LOL you are right! I always laugh whenever they make comments like that because they are always wrong. Thing is, they haven't made any comments yet about which gender they believe is strong. Nigel has said that overall the talent is great this year.

Not sure I believe him based off some of the uh..."talent" they let through in Nashville and some of the "talent" on that top 40 list and what isn't on it.

Aw, man, really? Why would she resign? That would make two that made the decision not to accept the offer. I wonder if they will do a big crying fake out like they did that one time the girl quit and then the other person was allowed in. Remember? They milked it!

Or am I confusing this with SYTYCD? I watch too much reality tv lol.

Ryan had tweeted and posted on his website to be sure to watch tonight.


After much chatter about Steven Tyler‘s loose lips and wandering eyes on “American Idol,” Ryan exclusively confirmed on his radio show Wednesday that producers plan to issue an apology to viewers.
“There’s a black card that starts the show tonight,” Ryan explained of the episode featuring auditions in Austin, TX. “It starts with, ‘American Idol would like to apologize for last week’s outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler…’”
What the rest of the apology says, we’ll find out tonight, but Ryan insisted viewers watch the entire hour because, “it will all add up and make sense.”

When asked by co-host Ellen K. if Tyler would keep his job, Ryan exclaimed, “I hope so!”
