Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
Can't speak about Lilith Fair but the AI tour not selling is definitely not Livenation's fault. They've had a ongoing sale for a whole month trying to pawn off tickets without the service charge and people still aren't buying. This AI season sucked to high heaven and interest in it is abysmal, as expected. There simply isn't anyone worth seeing let alone spending $20 on. They couldn't pay me enough to go.
Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
[] it doesn't even touch the levels of what Jordin Sparks has seen. Some seats selling for as little as $1 & still the venues aren't selling out.

Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
I don't know if it is related to the bad tour, but Jordan is going to Broadway --"IN THE HEIGHTS" starting aug 19 for 12 weeks
Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
The ax is starting to fall. From USA Today:
American Idols Live cancels at least one tour date, changes others
Quote:
A call Saturday afternoon to the box office of the Quickens Loan Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, confirmed that the show scheduled there for Sept. 11 was canceled on Thursday. Additionally, calls to Ticketmaster's automated box office found that tickets for scheduled shows in Omaha, Neb., and Kansas City, Mo., "aren't for sale through Ticketmaster right now."
Also, according to Le Dewyze, the Chicago show is shifted from August 30 to the 28th. They also announced yesterday that the Bridgeport, Connecticut show was moved up from September 13 to to next week (July 9)!
I wonder if they are going to keep the Pittsburgh date, or try to close the tour down early?
Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
OK looks like the changes are in, at least for the time being. I'm going to do this in two posts - first here is what has changed, so if you already have tickets check to see if your date has been moved or cancelled:
The following shows have been re-scheduled:
Bridgeport CT has moved from Sept 13 to July 9
Pittsburgh PA has moved from Sept 14 to July 21 – This is also a venue change & the show will now be held at First Niagara Pavilion
Des Moines IA has moved from Aug 31 to August 26
Minneapolis MN has moved from Aug 29 to Aug 27
Chicago IL has moved from Aug 30 to Aug 28
Toledo OH has moved from Sept 2 to Aug 29
Cincinnati OH has moved from Sept 3 to Aug 30
Indianapolis IN has moved from Sept 4 to Aug 31
The following shows have been canceled:
Omaha NE Aug 26
Kansas City MO 27
Winnipeg MB Sept 7
Toronto ON Sept 9
Buffalo NY Sept 10
Cleveland OH Sept 11
Portland ME Sept 16
The new 44 show tour schedule will end on August 31 at Indianapolis, IN.
Pittsburgh fans are really getting the shaft on this. They were originally the final stop on the tour - with all the closing night partying that usually goes with that. And the Idols were playing in the brand spakin' new (not even open yet) Consol Energy Center downtown. Now they've been moved ahead almost two months, and they've been shuffled 30 miles outside of town to the First Niagara Pavilion. (Which, by coincidence, is run by Live Nation.) I don't know how you translate tickets purchased for seats one arena to another. Or what happens to all the fans that were travelling to Pittsburgh because it was the last show.
(Thanks to MJ Santilli for doing the legwork with a Live Nation rep to confirm all this.)

Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
The tour stops nearest me is still on schedule. Ticket prices were reduced to $20 with no fees (purchased courtesy of a friend). I have two grass passes that came from a radio station contest and I can't find anybody who wants them!
Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
I just came back from the show. It was actually good! :lol
I'll give a more detailed post if anyone is interested. But yeah, I was impressed by how much I enjoyed myself.
Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
CG, Who was good, who not so good, who was surprising?
Re: AI 9 Tour Dates/Show Reviews
I think the one that surprised me the most was Katie. She sang a Demi Lovato song first, and then Fighter by Christina Aguilera. Dare I say, she rocked both songs. She was very in her element, and it said to myself, "Wow, so that's what the judges were raving about this whole time. I didn't see it on the show." But after singing the Demi Lovato song, it made me wonder why she tried out for Idol instead of trying to go to the Disney route. She would have fit right in.
Actually, they were all good. They're all definitely better live. There were some misses with the song choices, but overall, the show was awesome. The worst part were the little girls throwing their hands up in the air. I sat way in the back, so they blocked the tiny figure on the stage when they did that. :lol
I wasn't looking forward to watching the show--I thought I might as well just go since 1) the tickets were cheap, and 2) I've been wanting to watch an Idol show for a long time. Now, I'm actually thinking of going next year also... let's just hope that it's a better season. :lol
I'll post a longer review with pictures and everything. I just need to find the whole line-up of songs first, because I forgot some of the songs they sang. :up
