I think Simon's is mostly an act too. It doesn't matter if he is authentic in his jerkiness. As long as it is there... I mean, do we care if it is real or fake? Entertainment is entertainment.Originally Posted by BuckeyeAddict;3899813;

Apparenlty the public, if Nashville is any indication, does not feerl AI is dead.
Either does the entertainment industry, if we look at the fact that the owners of the franchise are getting offers from numerous groups to buy the show. And, advertising rates for next year are not dropping either.Originally Posted by ibot2much;3983701;
Could one of these be our next American Idol?

USA Today reports:
Nigel Lythgoe returns to 'American Idol'
Just to clarify roles, Freemantle Media handles the specifics of producing the weekly TV show. Ken Warwick and Cecile Frot-Coutaz remain in their roles overseeing the show at CBS Television City studio. 19 Entertainment owns the entire Idol franchise (including artist recording and management, tour, iTunes recordings and all revenue streams). For the past two years Simon Fuller, the shows creator, has been the sole 19E executive producer for Idol. Nigel already works with Fuller producing SYTYCD, and now the same two will head the Idol team at 19E. And since Fuller is taking on a more active role at 19E parent company CKK, Nigel should have a lot to do with the overall direction of the show.After two seasons away, Nigel Lythgoe is back as an executive producer of Fox's American Idol, representatives just confirmed to USA TODAY's Bill Keveney.
Lythgoe, executive producer and judge on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, signed a two-year deal and will join fellow executive producers Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Ken Warwick and creator Simon Fuller.
TopCatDC,
I thought a few years back that 19 sold a bunch of the franchise to the people that run Graceland & the Elvis empire?
